DECEMBER 1ST FINALLY ARRIVED!!!

Wow. That was like the longest 14 weeks of my life. :P

And I'm only here now and not PLAYING MY NEW DS LITE because I need to charge it first. :P

Anyway, about my exams, most were okay. Although I realised that it's NOT GOOD having 3 exams on consecutive days. By Thursday night I had a cold AND realised I couldn't remember anything I had studied for Euro Studies AND there was no way I could finish going through all 500 pages (unfortunately I think 500 pages is quite an accurate guess) of my notes.

Okay. I hope I don't fail Euro Studies. It's not that I'm particularly lousy at it and don't understand anything, it's just that all the assessments for this module have been squeezed with some other module's assessment (e.g. the mid-term essay was due right after my Pol Sci essay; then the stupid Versailles conference simulation took place RIGHT before my Art&History slide test) and I always ended up sacrificing Euro Studies. Now if there's a module I am TRULY lousy at and don't understand anything about, it's Pol Sci. :P

Back to the exams. Pol Sci was the "shortest" paper even though it had the most questions. The essay answers weren't that long; my explanation for the social contract theory in Part I was almost as long as the essays. :P And it was the only exam where quite a lot of people left early.

History was...history. I never did remember much of what I studied during the study week. So the questions I ended up doing were on those chapters I had studied the night before. :P I thought last year's paper was much easier. Bleargh. Last year you only had to argue if "Asian Values" were the reason for the unprecedented post-WWII economic growth of SKorea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. This year they wanted to know what role history played in instilling these Asian Values and how the values affected the four countries economically...and politically. Blah. For the second question I had originally intended to write about the Cold War in Asia, but I had to give three country examples (presumably Vietnam, Cambodia and Korea) and I couldn't remember anything about Cambodia. :P

The only good thing about Euro Studies on Friday was that I could go shopping with Sam after that AND finally not have an exam the next day. :P Oh and if you've read Sam's blog, the pattern on my skirt is a FLORAL PATTERN. :)

As expected I didn't get round to studying for Art&History till like Sunday night. Hahahahaha. Started off making nice notes on Nazi architecture, then went on to study artworks/buildings/monuments I had shortlisted as likely to be tested - the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Jacques-Louis David's The Death of Marat, Edouard Manet's Bar at the Folies-Bergere, etc. Then I read through the lecture notes for the second half of the semester (assuming that since nothing in the first half was tested last year, it would be the same this year)........before realising that it was almost time for me to get up (and I hadn't slept yet!) and I had yet to read through the module readings.

Story of my life. :P

Luckily, I actually bothered to keep up with my module readings (unlike Pol Sci), so all I had to do was go through the stuff I had highlighted in my notes. Unluckily, the bus was damn crowded so I didn't manage to get a seat early nor study much. Then I had to meet my friend first, so I only started to read properly when I was sitting outside the hall. I was reading about colonial architecture and modernism right up till I went into the hall.

When we were told to check if we had the correct number of pages, I flipped the paper open and thought, OOOOH COLOUR PICTURES!!!...ehhh...aren't those artworks and buildings from the first half of the semester?!! And why's there no colonial and Nazi architecture?!!

The first essay was a critical discussion on 'Art often tells lies, but if it is great art, it does so beautifully' with reference to three of six given artworks. WTF was my first reaction.

...Then when I had calmed down, I realised that the question was really very interesting and that I had guessed two of the artworks that would come out. Plus since I liked the first half of the semester, I could still remember enough to get by. The second question was less WTF and I had also guessed two buildings/monuments, so in the end I decided the paper was quite fun and I had a good time writing my answers.

AND IT WAS OVER.

I walked briefly around Vivo first before meeting my mother and taking a bus to Orchard. We had lunch at Food Republic and then walked around all the shops in Wisma before heading to the exhibition hall in Ngee Ann City, where my mother bought a Carebear for someone's Christmas pressie - unfortunately, not mine. :P

Then it was starting to get late so we went to Far East Shopping Centre, where I was surprised at how small the shop was. But thankfully they had enough stocks of my Crimson/Black DS Lite left. After adding a 2-year warranty, an original charger and screen protectors, the total cost was $223. I decided not to get a carrying case since I wasn't sure which type was the best. :P

After which we zipped off to Funan where my luck, as usual, ran out and Professor Layton and the Curious Village had sold out in the shops that sold it for $49. In the end the only copy I managed to find cost $52. And I was sooooooo tempted to buy The World Ends With You instead since it was $49.90 and it usually costs more than $60. Oh well. Probably my next game. Whenever I manage to clear my debts.

To end off............I am too lazy to post pics now. HAHAHAHAHA. Maybe some other day. :P
