Yes, now back to some random musings.

Last night I happened to come across an old article from Digital Life. It occurred to me that I got my GBA SP three years after getting my GBC...and another three years have passed since then.

Now I want a DS Lite.

...and then I realised I don't even like any of the DS games, so too bad.

...but THEN I got that annoying urge to buy FE:TSS again. One year since it came out and I still haven't played it.

BLAH.

Remind me not to read another issue of Digital Life.

And that's an outrageous lie because there's no fresh air in Borders on a Sunday. Particularly on a Sunday that happens to be the last day of a discount. :P

I was stuck there a really long time because they didn't have the top two books on my list...and I couldn't decide between everything else. Especially at the history section, where I finally chose Persian Fire and made haste for home. :P

I still have more books to get but somehow I don't think I can finish everything on my list in four weeks. Not to mention I don't think I can even afford everything on my list. BLAH. Stupid short holiday.

In other news I have been getting a kick out of watching Kids Central everyday from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m. You can go check out what show is on in the earlier timeslot (and subsequently laugh your head off at me...but I watch it precisely 'cos it's sooooo bitchy and brainless...erm...think you might guess which cartoon it is already), but the later timeslot is for X-men, which I haven't watched for A LONG TIME. Back when the series first aired (10 years ago!!!), I remember my favourite characters were Jean Grey and The Beast...

...I realise that has changed. This also made me remember that list Cheryl and I did two years ago, "10 Coolest Cartoon Characters" (obviously we both had different lists since we never like the same characters). I shall be posting up my new list sometime soon, complete with pictures if I can find them. I think you might notice a trend somewhere.

(Oh, and don't say I told you this, but I wanted to do a Top 5...then realised I had forgotten all about Hakkai. Mwahaha.)

Anyway. Where was I? Oh. X-men. Most of the X-men were still stuck in space chasing the Enkron (however you spell it) crystal in the last episode. While they were in orbit they met a group of space pirates called the Star Jammers.

Now, seriously, if I started a band of space pirates and wanted to be feared throughout the galaxy and beyond, I reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallly wouldn't name my group the Star Jammers. I envision this scenario happening:

Person on Spaceship: Captain! Captain! We have to change course immediately! The Star Jammers are headed our way!

Captain: *laughs loudly*

Captain: *can't stop laughing*

Person on Spaceship: ...Captain? Did you hear me? We're under attack by the Star Jammers!!!

Captain: We're under attack by the Star Jammers? What are they, a new INTERGALACTIC GIRL BAND?!!

Captain: *resumes laughing*

See my point? Now I shall leave.

P.S. Found some interesting site that calculates how much your blog is worth. I don't know how they calculate it 'cos I wasn't expecting my blog to be worth anything, but...

I don't know how the heck my blog is worth anything at all, much less that much...but now I know where I can get some extra $$$ from...hehehe...

In other news, so Monday passed and I walked out of school a free girl. Well, I walked out a lot later than expected, due to annoying CD-burning problems and even more annoying Powerbook-returning problems.

My only aim was to get Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian at MPH. I'd seen an abundance of copies at CityLink the previous Friday.

Lo and behold, they were suddenly out of stock! And there was only one blinking copy left at the Raffles City branch...and it obviously wasn't in very good condition.

So the next day (Tuesday) I had an excuse to finally drop by Parkway Parade. Saw lots of things but only bought my book - and there weren't many copies left either.

After that I made a trip to Kinokuniya. Wanted to get The Geographer's Library but didn't. Thank goodness 'cos I found out my sister just bought it. Not that I'm planning to borrow it from her. Still compiling my Autumn Booklist. I read 14 chapters of The Historian and it's really good so far, but very dark and kind of depressing. I think I will change my mind and read Arthur Phillips' The Egyptologist after it instead of before...need a bit of humour before I read more dark and depressing novels. Mwahaha.

Anyway can't stay to talk. The article is calling out to me. Remind me to blog about a certain unexpected shopping spree.

EDIT: OMG I accidentally threw away the notes I took from the interview!

EDIT AGAIN: OMG now I have another person on my testimonial waiting list. This is reaaaaally strange 'cos I just re-read my Sec 4 journal and was busy reminiscing about all the crazy things all of us got up to, from Secret Saturday Outings to table tennis and bubble tea sessions... (And btw, YQ, I actually did start on your testimonial months ago. Unfortunately your request for a poem got me a bit stuck. Kindly remind me after my exams end.)

I actually exceeded the 1,200 words for FW. In fact I think I may exceed 1,400 after I get my last two interviews done. Compared with my first feature story...

...Anyway. I also think this story is better than the one I did during e-learning. The exercise one. Mostly due to the interviews this time around. *cough*

I woke up around 11 a.m. on Saturday and spent half the day researching for the feature. I wanted to research on Friday night but I was too exhausted after MMR that I spent the whole night rotting away in dreamland. After lots of procrastinating I finally got started on the story officially around 4 a.m. Obviously by then everyone was asleep, so I had to leave blank paragraphs for inserting their comments, and somehow continue the story smoothly from there.

By the time I reached my second-last paragraph (i.e. the paragraph before the conclusion), it was well past 9 a.m. on Sunday. Had to deal with some DMA matters before sleeping around 11 a.m.

So there you have it: 24 hours without sleep.

I was up at 2 p.m. and promptly rushed off for a dim sum buffet at China Square. No thanks to the people who were with me, who insisted they were too full, I ended up eating most of the food and nearly exploded. A picture if I remember later. (That is, a picture of the food, not of me going to explode.)

On a completely unrelated note, my mother wore a baileygreen shirt to lunch. I should've guessed where she bought it from because the colour is all over Zara now. Makes me wonder why I haven't bought anything baileygreen from there yet. I mean, everything in baileygreen is nice. Except maybe a baileygreen Consumer Behaviour textbook.

And why on earth am I still blogging at this hour, when I haven't yet started on my 600-800 word concept paper for CAC and am facing a 9 a.m. DMA meeting in school. As you might've guessed, I have already resigned myself to not sleeping for another night.

Ooh. 10 hours till The Deadline for all my projects. Better go now.

So I've been going around proclaiming that I can't wait till it's next Monday, whereupon my mother points out it's not like I'm on holiday after that.

The truth is I'd rather have to study for ten exams than complete all my projects, particularly DMA. I think I'm going to go insane before DMA is done. I am SO SICK of the DMA project. It's sucking the life out of me, and we're not even making any progress!!! GRRRRR.

And MMR is once again depriving me of much needed sleep. As if I don't have a problem getting up in the morning already, now I don't even get to get up because I don't get to sleep! For goodness' sake I've watched the sun rise outside the window by my desk for the past five days!!!

Did not help that Astronomy was bugging me the whole weekend too. Whyohwhy did they have to choose black holes as our topic. Anyone who witnessed our presentation wouldn't be stupid enough to believe the presenters actually knew about singularities and general relativity and whatever. Blah. Asterisms would've been a thousand times easier to talk about.

What else?

Oh. Yes. I must get started on my Freakin' Writing soon. It looks like I have approximately three whole days to get 1) the whole stupid CD-rom for DMA, 2) the whole stupid 1200-1500 word investigative feature for FW, and 3) the 600-800 word short film concept paper for CAC, out of the way.

Whee. Another 120 hours without sleep.
