Funnily enough though, I woke up at 8.30 a.m. after having slept at 5.30 or 6.

Since Sam did not have "the luxury of time" to follow me, I went there myself. :P Then I was off to Marina Square, which was vexing because nothing I wanted was in stock. Which means I save money, which is good, but seriously - what are the chances of the colour I want being the only colour not stocked?!

*grumbles*

Went back home and my mother was like, "So what did you buy today?"

*grumbled*

Mother: "What were you looking for? Clothes again?"

Me: "Yes."

Mother: "Not enough is it?! That day just bought how many shirts..."

Me: "Three. And no, not enough."

Then I went to have my bath and nap; my mother went out. She came back around 6pm and woke me up, "Your letter! Your exam results is it?"

Me: (yawn) "Yes."

*gets up and walks into kitchen*

*Mother holds the envelope out*

Me: "You open lor..."

*nonchalantly pours a cup of water*

*Mother eagerly tears open envelope, takes out paper, is about to read...*

Me: "...since I knew last week already."

WAHAHAHA.

EDIT: Now that the Music Synergy problem has been resolved (hopefully for the last time!), did I say how much I'm looking forward to this weekend? Get to see everyone again. Hehehe.

I really don't want the hols to end. Not only 'cos I'm apparently the only one on earth who hates going to school - I seriously want to read more books!!! Having my fair share of really violent stories at the moment - why, in The Pillars of the Earth alone, there was/were:

• two hangings
• a person crushed by a collapsing mill
• a town completely set on fire (killing lots)
• a church collapse (strangely, killing more)
• guards murdered as someone attempted to take over a castle
• people trampled by war horses
• people kicked by war horses and having their skulls cracked
• countless people killed in countless fights and battles
• and even more people who were just plain murdered

It was a good read. Lalala. No seriously. It was a really good book.

Then the next book I read was The Thirteen Problems - Agatha Christie so quite a few people turned up dead.

Now The Death of Achilles! If you ask me, quite marvellous the way people kill with guns in this series. Like the first book had the whole Russian Roulette thingy - you and your friend (or enemy) load a single bullet into the barrel of a gun, then take turns aiming at yourself until the unfortunate one gets shot. And, in the latest book, someone just got shot right in the eye...

So interesting.

All right I'll shut up. Going to work on Chapter 11 again.

Although it's annoying that when you're faced with being able to get anything you want from Topshop...you just can't find anything. :P

Anyway, my shopping list:

• White Zara blouse (it looks much nicer than it sounds...)
• White bead necklace
• Light purple Topshop long top (haha..."Topshop long top"...)
• Some dark grey striped double layer Topshop top (haha..."Topshop top"...okay I'll shut up!)
• Navy blue despatch bag from Topshop
• Some black handbag for my sis (from Topshop)

The last two items were $100 altogether. Lalala.

I actually can't think of anything else I urgently want to buy! This is amazing.

I should do it more often.

Yeah right, think I print money or something? :P

IN OTHER NEWS...went out with Sam yesterday. Spent 8 hours in Orchard and City Hall. Sam was looking for potential birthday presents; I was looking for stuff to buy..........except that I obviously left all the buying to today instead. *cough*

Was there something else I'm supposed to mention? ERM.........ah. Received my Edusave letter. My account is empty! Yippee! :P But not like I expected much; there was only $11 left last year.

And I guess that will be all for today's entry.

So I was pleasantly surprised when, on Wednesday morning, I woke up and saw that it was only 10 a.m.! Wow, I only had 4 hours of sleep!

Well, waking up early on Wednesday could only mean one thing: it was a divine sign telling me to GO OUT!!!

So I broke my promise and went out.

I found a few things to buy (but didn't buy 'cos I'm waiting for Friday), but there was mostly nothing new. And the trip was marred by my bad luck in catching buses - I missed both my bus there and the bus back, having to wait 18 min for the latter! :P

But still. Nice to get some fresh air. Which you know doesn't make sense 'cos the air in Orchard can't possibly be fresher than the air here. Whatever.

I got home (starving), had a bowl of soup, then was about to take my requisite after-lunch nap when my mother came home with some more food.

After which it was really nap time.

I woke up and basically just lazed around reading and watching TV and surfing the Net (which is getting increasingly boring). Ah. If only everyday life was like that. :P

Today was a bit different, although I miraculously woke up early again. I was (as usual) dozing off after lunch when I received a call I've been kinda hoping never to receive. Shouldn't have answered the stupid phone. Ah well. 10 min and I shall forget about it.

Then I returned to snoozing until my mother came back (thankfully not with more food 'cos I was feeling rather sick). She had barely stepped through the door when I received another phone call.

I don't know. You could say both calls had (at a stretch) some good news...but they just left me pretty darn troubled.

Me and the STUPID things I get myself into sometimes...

I've got a (pretty lousy) picture of the burnt patch in the forest, but I'm too lazy to upload it from my phone to the computer. *yawn*

And in other news, I shall try my hardest to refrain from going out until Friday. Well actually there are only two reasons that ever prevent me from going out, and they both decided to crop up in the same week. So too bad.

Off to play. I have no idea what to play, but I'll figure something out. I'll have to figure it out fast or I'll succumb to another Fire Emblem campaign!

Yep, a forest fire right outside my house. It was always an accident waiting to happen. :P

The damage is really more interesting but I haven't got a picture yet. (This happened on Thursday btw.)

P.S. In other news, you may have noticed that the link for my Dubai travel blog is finally up. Finished it early yesterday morning but was too lazy to mention it, seeing as I needed to sleep. Had an unexpected delay when the computer hung at the end of my long second-last post, so had to waste time redoing the whole stupid thing. Hope there aren't any errors 'cos I can't be bothered less to edit. :P

P.P.S. Still reading The Pillars of the Earth. The good thing is I managed to get past the halfway point. The bad thing is that there's still a long way to go. HOWEVER, if they have yet more big bloody battles in the book, then it might seem a little shorter.

I was kidding about the above. :P

But let's not talk about my purchases. :P

Today's post will be all about my stayover at Sam's house!

We met at City Hall slightly past 5 p.m. and walked around the area till 6.30 p.m. or something like that, before making the looooooooong journey back to Tampines - spent most of the MRT ride squashed near the door.

Dinner was roti prata that Sam's mother so kindly bought. :) (And curry is better than sugar, Sam! :P ) After that Sam wanted to watch Campus Superstar, so I handed her her pressies at each commercial break...because I wanted to be irritating and make her wait. :P

In the end we got so distracted with the pressies that Sam completely forgot about Campus Superstar. Haha. We had half an hour to kill so we walked to 201 to buy Nestum (for Sam), cup noodles (for me), and a bottle of grapefruit bacardi.

Then we settled down to watch Desperate Housewives with our glasses of bacardi.

Not long after, we started regretting drinking it too early...'cos we were starting to get sleepy!

Nevertheless, we contrived to stay awake till the end of Grey's Anatomy. Then it was bath time, followed by my cup noodles. :P

Finally we went to her room to watch the extra features on her HP4 DVD. After the long interviews, deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes stuff (during which we nearly killed ourselves imitating a certain actress' laugh), we watched a bit of the movie in the Chinese dub...and nearly killed ourselves again laughing at the translations for "Cedric" and "Muggle" and the way Chinese Voldemort said "Avada Kedavra!".

When we were done laughing, Sam insisted she wanted to sleep but I insisted on watching Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus (where all the characters - particularly Barbie and her polar bear - were irritating). She fell asleep barely halfway through. BOO.

I slept at 4.30 a.m. and we woke up at 1 p.m.! Even had time to dally about before going to Parkway Parade, where Sam couldn't find whatever she wanted to buy, so we ended up in Marina Square again.

Got home at 7.30 p.m., had dinner and my bath...then promptly fell asleep till 1.20 a.m., by which time Sam had gotten fed up waiting for me online and gone off. :P

I conveniently "forgot" to tell you something that happened during my trip.

On our second-last morning I was woken up with a, shall we say, rather important call from Singapore.

Hmm.

In other news, went out again this morning. Bought a *gasp* shirt and a pair of shoes. I realise I've now gotten three new pairs of shoes in a week, when I used to get like one per year. Hahaha.

Ahem.

I also started my travel blog last night. Coming on pretty quickly. Apparently I wrote quite a lot of entries for the first day, but only one each for the rest of the days. So I'm still at the first day. The third post has TONS of pictures.

Not that it was bad. I mean, the sights were all interesting, the souvenir shopping in souks was great (and cheap) although we had very little time in the shopping malls, the hotel was nice, and being 18 this year we all had to freedom to smoke and drink and wander outside in the middle of the night.

Actually, the smoking part was bad. Which is one of the reasons why I'm glad I'm back. If I had stayed any longer I would've gotten lung cancer from breathing in all that smoke, I tell you. Grr.

Unfortunately we were in Dubai so you could barely get alcohol anywhere. I ordered some on the plane...just because I could. And because I couldn't sleep. :p

So yeah, Dubai was great. The trip was good, albeit very rushed and we had waaaaaaaaaaay too many talks to attend there.

The socialising, as you might imagine, was what screwed up the whole thing for me. Every night everyone would be sneaking into each other's rooms to watch TV or play cards; apart from the last night I went to sleep straight after my bath.

(The last night I found the telecast for Liverpool vs. Benfica, which was delightful because they didn't show it on Ch 5. So I stayed up with the company of some cup noodles. And for that matter, I hate hate hate Benfica! Because of them I can't see my two favourite players for the rest of the CL season!!! BLAH!)

Most my conversations on the trip went like this:

Person: What's your name ah?

Me: Jessica.

Person: You're very quiet leh.

(I swear if I had a dollar for every single time in my life that I've been called "quiet"...)

And for the last two days no one sat with me on the bus. In fact I had to move right to the front 'cos people kept requesting me to swap seats with their friends. Well okay, no one would've sat with me the whole trip if there wasn't the occasional lack of seats.

You get the point.

I have to say, I haven't shut up since I got back. Understandably of course. So Sam and YQ, please hurry up and meet me so I have people to talk to when everyone else gets sick of listening to me. :)

ANYWAY, don't expect more info about my trip here...I shall be working on another travel blog later. But I must say some days I was too tired to write, so it will take more time for me to account for the missing days.

I would take a pic of all my purchases, except that some have been given away already. :P

On to happier stuff.

Woke up yesterday morning to go for a lunch buffet. Was not very thrilled because I just spent the last four days having buffets for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. (Speaking of which, there was a sad lack of soup on the trip so I've been catching up with lots of cup noodles.) But heck, it's a buffet. :P

Halfway through I was surprised when WH called. I mean, he's still alive? WOW.

After lunch my mother and I went to the shoe sale at Suntec convention hall. Found this really really nice pair of shoes but they (bleargh) were out of my size, so ended up with white shoes. (Was supposed to get white shoes in Dubai but like I said, there was too little time in shopping malls, and the souks barely had any.)

Then we walked to Marina Square, where I found they had restocked those Dorothy Perkins shirts but white was out of my size still, so I bought the last navy blue one in my size.

In Zara I lamented on not having the time to try (and buy) the long grey jeans in Dubai. (The Zara there is cheaper. I, er, went overboard buying those striped shirts. I couldn't resist! It's the first time I've seen the other two colours in my size! :P)

In Topshop I didn't get my navy blue bag. Haha. Some other day.

Then it was time to go home, but as we walked through CityLink I found out MPH was having a two-day 20% storewide discount. As it so happened, the smaller (cheaper) version of Turkish Gambit had just arrived, so I got that. Then I just had to go get another Agatha Christie book. :P

Better get started reading soon. Lalala.

So yeah, lots of unexpected purchases.

Finally we reached home and guess what was in the mailbox?

Yep, a nice package from the UK.

My jeans have arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suddenly very glad I didn't buy the Zara jeans after all...
