Well. That was a damn good movie. But then again you should've heard that even if you've never watched it. The only problem I had was that everytime someone called Todd "Mr Anderson", I kept hearing Agent Smith. Hmm.
Anyway, so the moral of Dead Poets Society (at least to me) is:
SPOILERS
When you want to commit suicide, at least leave a little note explaining WHY you did it! See, if Neil had bothered to do that, 1) everyone wouldn't be puzzling over why he killed himself, 2) his parents wouldn't have to ask the school authorities to get to the bottom of it, 3) students wouldn't have to betray Mr Keating, 4) Charlie wouldn't have been expelled because he didn't want to betray Mr Keating, 5) Mr Keating wouldn't have been fired, and 6) a dozen of Mr Keating's students wouldn't be feeling so guilty about getting him fired.
Of course then there wouldn't be such a great ending. :P
END SPOILERS
I slept at 6 a.m., which I could obviously afford to since the SCREWED UP TIMETABLE meant I didn't need to turn up for school till 2 p.m. Seriously, I'd rather get up at the crack of dawn and come home early than have another freaking day of going home at 5 p.m. Oh and by the way, this is the 4th consecutive semester that my Thursdays end at 5 p.m.
Anyway. UCCD notes = damn thick. And expensive. I didn't pay much attention during the lecture (surprise!). But I shall try to believe the lecturer that only the first lecture is boring.
The tutorial was more interesting though, although the whole class was as united as a...well, something that is NOT united. The first tutorial was like World Geography 101. We had this list of countries of which locations we had to plot on a world map, followed by stating the name of the country's capital, language, people, currency and head of state.
I tell you, I haven't played Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? and that Guess the Country game in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas for too long.
In other words, my world geography seriously sucks now. As if it didn't before, but at least it wasn't this bad. :P
Anyway, in line with all the tutorials this semester, class ended early at 4.10 p.m. and I went home to catch Winx (haven't watched it for a few weeks; I have no idea what is going on), have dinner, then nap. :P
Unfortunately I forgot to borrow more DVDs today but at least I get to read my book. :P

Phenomenally bad mood yesterday. Or rather, I've been in a bad mood all week. First week of school and stuff. Still trying to shake off the usual depression. And reality-checking myself is so not helping.
Anyway, so I've been very dispirited and neither does it help that I haven't been getting enough sleep at all. Basically I borrowed two DVDs on Monday and was gonna watch Kingdom of Heaven on Monday night, but it turned out we had an assignment to watch our favourite movie for Scriptwriting...soooooooo I spent the night re-watching Anastasia for the 368th time.
Speaking of which, during class we also had to "sell" our movie and talk about its concept and logline and why it's so good. I went through the main points of the movie off the top of my head, and when I found out we had to rewatch our movies, I was all like er, I think I can remember every scene without watching...
Either way it was an excuse to catch Anastasia again. So I spent like two hours singing along to all the songs (well no I didn't 'cos my sis was lurking around) and finding out I can even quote a lot of the dialogue. How freaky.
Went to sleep at 4.30 a.m.
Monday really sucked because of the long break before 4 p.m., and Tuesday also sucked because I only had 1 hour of break in 9 hours of classes. Except this is the first week so tutorials all ended early and I found myself sleeping in the library again. For scriptwriting we had to get into groups and come up with movie plots from a newspaper headline or a single word. Hilarious.
Tuesday night I finally got to watch KofH. Man, what a difference SUBTITLES make! I remember the very first time I was clueless about what was going on since I couldn't make out what everyone was saying. And I always thought Tiberias and his knights got massacred despite Tiberias refusing to go into battle, because Guy was the king and he had no choice but to obey or something. Turns out Tiberias fled with his knights before the final battle, which explained their absence. And pity also because Tiberias was pretty darn cool before he went all cowardly. :P My favourite character is still King Baldwin, and my favourite scene the one where he hits Reynald.
No I don't like Balian. I always thought Sibylla should've smacked him when she asked him to save the people from what she had done and he promised to do so...........because it was more of HIS fault than hers!!!
ANYWAY. Getting carried away. The movie ended at 4 a.m. but I remembered the extra disc. There was this documentary "History vs. Hollywood" and I just HAD to watch it, so in the end I went to sleep at like 5 a.m.
Now back to Wednesday. I was in a particularly bad mood thinking about going to another class where I didn't know anybody/didn't have anybody to talk to. It was okay in French and Unravelling the Secret of Life. Calendars and Astronomy was trying. By this semester I was completely sick of the idea. It's as good as three times a week that this occurs.....and THEN it turned out Su-fern and I are in different UCCD tutorials, so that makes FOUR days a week! Anyway, finance finished too early for its own good so I left school and went wandering about. Had lunch at Great World City (I was the only one in KFC, how nice) and bought my sweater, then left the place to find out the too-hot weather had turned into a thunderstorm within an hour. Reached SP just in time and got to my Personal Financial Planning class. I was quite horrified at the prospect of TWO projects, but it turned out there are like 6 other DMC students in the class - I swear there were none in Unravelling the Secret of Life and Calenders & Astronomy - and when the lecturer grouped us, it also turned out of the other four people in my group, three are from DMC (I kinda pity the other guy) and happen to be in spec dip too. So not too bad. You should've seen my delight when I got home at 2.35 p.m. In case you don't know, Wednesday is the only day I get to go home BEFORE 5 p.m. As expected I slept the whole afternoon away. And now it's 2 a.m. and I'm off to watch Dead Poets Society. I tried the whole of last semester to borrow the DVD but it was always checked out. :P

7.5 hours till I'm back in school again!
You can tell I'm SO excited.
My father actually wished me a "Happy Second Semester!"
Now, "happy" isn't quite the adjective I'd use to describe school...
Anyway. I had a list of things to do before Monday:
1. Testimonials
I SENT THEM!!!!!!!!!! Wahahahaha. And it took such a short time too, after I ditched the poem thingy YQ wanted. I mean, "Yan Qing" doesn't really rhyme with anything. :P
2. Fire Emblem
I finished Eirika's route right after I woke up just now. I was up late battling to reach the final boss. So that means I've finished both routes of the main game, leaving post-game stuff to complete. Don't know when I will be able to do that though.
3. Persian Fire
I actually finished The Egyptologist earlier than expected (the ending was amazing) so I managed to start on Persian Fire. Unfortunately I'm still at the first chapter 'cos the preface was so damn long and I had to stop reading so I could complete FE. Guess what's gonna be in my bag later.
4. Desk
Well I just sort-of cleared half my desk. The inconsequential half, that is. UGH. What am I supposed to do with all the notes and tutorials and drafted essays? Not to mention exam papers? Maybe I could sell the exam papers to the first years for black market prices...
5. Clothes
There is no more space in my closet. And my sis dumping old stuff on me didn't help. And my house is out of hangers. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Why don't I just wear the same shirt for a week? Like a uniform. Would save a lot of trouble. And money.
SHEESH. This has been a really unproductive holiday. Two books and two routes in FE?
I don't want to sleep. Because I don't want to wake up.
I think I shall go and eat some mooncake.

Dead blog. Oh well.
THE UPDATE TO END ALL UPDATES
Firstly: I never intended on not updating for so long. I was just too lazy. And besides nothing very exciting happened. In fact I haven't even been going out a lot.
Books: Eh. I spent the whole of the first week reading The Historian. BEST. BOOK. EVER. Although I can see why a lot of people would find it boring. Not that it was ever boring for me. :P
Am currently stuck at The Egyptologist. Some reviewer commented that none of the narrators are likeable. Which is completely true. They're either arrogant or...arrogant, now that I come to think of it. You can't help going "Who cares?" or "Serves them right!" when they meet with any misfortune.
Looks like I won't have time to start Persian Fire. Damn.
Shopping: Hmm. Sam's blog should've mentioned some of the more important shopping excursions - i.e. end-of-exams-day and the crazy Ngee Ann City sale. Although for the latter, I went there a day earlier too.
Also, a certain someone has been sending me on little shopping errands, which somehow always end with me buying something too.
My damage so far is something like...nah, I won't say. :P
Movies: Didn't watch any. At the cinema I mean. As if that's surprising for me. Oh, and in case I haven't made it public already: I DIDN'T WATCH PofTC: DEAD MAN'S CHEST!!!!!!!!!!! :P
Travels: This one I didn't tell anyone. Apparently my father had this crazy idea to take that new super-high train from China to Tibet. As it is, his idea came a little too late so it was scrapped - couldn't get airplane tickets or train tickets or something. I don't know. Oxygen masks don't appeal to me, either way.
Projects: NO, I don't mean the sleep-depriving things I have to work on every semester. This refers to little personal projects of my own. I haven't opened that notebook from Borders yet. No inspiration at the moment. And I got the photoframes from IKEA to frame up some of my favourite postcards, but I haven't gotten the hooks yet. So basically: my personal projects are failing at the moment.
Fire Emblem: And now...what I've been up to for the past two weeks. Also why I haven't been going out much.
It all started the weekend after the exams ended, when I was on MSN and someone fell asleep and never turned up. In order to not feel like I just wasted a few hours away from The Historian, I...erm...tried out another batch of games (well, actually two - Winx and FE). And got totally hooked on FE:TSS, as predicted. I couldn't even stop until at 4 a.m. my main character got criticalled and died. And the stupid thing? Winx was waaaaaaay harder than FE...
Anyway, after that I spent the whole of the first week (i.e. during breaks from reading) hunting down the best prices for both the game and guide. Finally made a secret trip to Tampines (that lasted 15 min!) where THANKFULLY I found the guide at MM. That was on Thursday or Friday. Didn't get the game till Sunday.
So since then I've just been playing it all day and night long. :P Basically the story has two main characters, who are twins. Almost halfway through the game they split up and you get to choose who to follow. I finished one route and am now nearing the end of the other route. Can't wait for it to end. I need to start living again. :P
