The school's computers sure don't have a liking for Blogger...always takes ages to load.
Anyway, this is not good. Not good at all. I'm so tired it's not even funny. The bus returned to school at 11.15 a.m., which was already 15 min into our ICP lecture. The lecturer was kind enough not to start till we were all present, but even then I couldn't keep awake for more than a minute. Finally gave up and snoozed through the whole duration of her explanation on the most important slide! Argh.
Was so so so so so tempted to skip OC so I could go home, sleep and only return at 5.30 p.m., but I don't have a valid excuse and this is a presentation week, so that probably means marks deducted.
And I can't afford OC marks being deducted!
Looks like I have to find a way to somehow stick it out till the end of French, which is my biggest worry. I mean, I even forgot to print out the notes we were supposed to read through before the lesson! :P
Great. Just great. I had 3 hours less sleep last night (woke up at 6 instead of the usual 9 on Tuesdays)...and on Tuesdays, of course, I have 3 more hours of school! Brr. Think I can't handle not napping when I get home later, so if you don't see me online tonight, you'll know the reason behind it! And I still have Clay's biodata to work on (Sam still hasn't replied to my urgent question!!!), as well as loading a new colour ink cartridge so I can print the biodata and another document. (Of course, I can print in the media studio, but I prefer to use my own fonts so that's out of the question.)
Then there's also French homework (checked the notice already; there's a whole list of pages to do in our workbook). Oh, and my CC group has apparently forgotten about me, and likewise, the whole CC classwork thingy. :P
But...........................all the above was beside the point. You wanna know about my trip to the SPH print centre? Well, we got green "visitor" stickers and were shown a short video about the print centre and the news centre (in Toa Payoah...damn, I want to go there!). Then we left our stuff in the viewing room and had a nice long tour of the printing facilities. We were the first people to get our hands on today's copy of The New Paper! In fact we even got to see the template before they placed them into the printing machines. Then they started printing right in front of us! At first I watched, mesmerised, as the printers churned out 6,900 copies per hour. Then the meter steadily increased so that 35,000 were being printed - and of course I got dizzy. :P
We followed the overhead conveyors (which were carrying the newspapers) into a few rooms, where we watched huge robotic machines loading the one-tonne paper rolls onto the machines, then to the packing area where even larger machines sorted and separated the stacks so that they were ready for the vendors to collect. After which we saw the long tables at which workers slip inserts (like fastfood coupons and computer promotions) into the newspapers (nothing to be inserted today though). Apparently, for slipping 4,000 inserts in 1.5 hours, you can actually earn $80. Not bad eh?
Anyway, then we were led back to the room where we had drinks, got our questions answered, then left with our souvenirs (a fresh copy of The New Paper, a plastic file, and an SPH notebook - I likeeeeeeeee, but it's too nice to use!).
Oh, and by the way, I learnt something very interesting just now: apparently if The Straits Times has been sent to print already but at the last minute some breaking news comes in, they will not discard those that have already been printed, but produce a second edition to make up for the rest of the copies. (That is, of course, assuming the printing process is halfway through when the news appears. If not then there will be two different editions with the same amount of circulation.) And............those living in the East will be the ones who receive the outdated first edition! That's because the print centre is all the way in Jurong, and they send the papers to the furthest parts of Singapore first, which from Jurong happens to be the Pasir Ris-Changi-Tampines area. Hahahahaha.

This will be yet another of my rant-all-the-way posts. Can't help it, the only good thing that has happened so far was Man U winning 0-2 last night. :P
ANYWAY, so as I was being kept updated with the game online, I was...erm...reading. Then I received our ICP PowerPoint slides (had to run over to my sister's laptop to view it), tried hard not to suffer a stroke from the grammar. After that I had to roughly plan my notes, so I got my classmate to transfer the report over too. (If you recall I had no hand in compiling and editing the final report, so I hadn't seen it yet)
I tell you I honestly nearly burst into tears. I mean, seriously, did they even bother editing stuff like "critiques" to replace "critics", "programme" to replace "program", and the whole big mess of present-tense-suddenly-switching-to-past-tense?!
Oh no, they didn't. But they did edit mine though.
And subsequently added a word to one of my sentences so that it became devoid of logic. NOT TO MENTION they decided to "correct" a "grammatical error" in another sentence, and instead turned it into a grammatical error that wasn't even there in the first place!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! *curses and swears at screen*
(If I have time tonight I'll give you a sample of what they should have edited.)
So, unsurprisingly, after our presentation the lecturer told us all that we're much better at oral presentations because our reports were terrible; we didn't notice that there were so many grammatical errors inside.
What the hell.
Of course, it's my fault for not compiling along with them. But 1) would they really want me around? and 2) do you think they would listen to me, considering the last time I told one of them "it's" was the correct form, not "its", she said, "I know, but I like it better that way."
!!! Why on earth is your preference more important than being grammatically correct?!! And yes, grammar was being marked for that project. :P
*takes in deep breath*
Okay.
Today started off pretty bland. Our CC lecturer said we'd have lots of fun - doing classwork. Only problem is, we're supposed to find a dish in the foodcourt to advertise about, then design rough plans for a print ad (A3 size cardboard) and a pamphlet, due this Friday.
Gee, that would be all right, you know, if we didn't already have a proper groupwork project on the same thing that will actually be counted for our final grade! Not to mention I didn't have a group so it took some time to find one. Then when we went to the foodcourt, everybody talked about everything other than the project. :P
At 10 a.m. (precisely 1 hour into our CC class), my ICP group decided to go off to the library and rehearse for the presentation. So I left without discussing anything (the ICP group had obviously formed a CC group by themselves, good for them). Brr.
Now I'm awaiting ITB. Think I'm gonna drop off at any moment. I was nodding off during the other groups' presentations, and it took so much willpower to keep awake and look attentive. Then of course, while my group was preparing to present, someone stood at the same table as me, and (accidentally) dropped his bottle, so it rolled and spilled all over my leather shoes.
He picked the thing up and went over to the others to laugh about being clumsy enough to drop his bottle.
And obviously didn't apologise.
#$%^&*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*takes another deep breath*
Off to ITB.

30th book.
Finally. Considering how long ago I finished my 20th one! (I think it took the same amount of time to finish the last ten books as it took to finish the first twenty...)
Turkish Gambit was good. It would've been even better if...(please pardon my obvious anguish here)...Zurov hadn't died!!!! WHY'D HE HAVE TO BE KILLED OFF?!
*sobs inconsolably*
Damn, my favourite characters always either get killed or turn out to be the evil murderer. And this was such a pathetic death too - just bang! one shot to the left temple, and a dagger in the shoulder as a red herring. Bleargh.
...And please don't start wondering why I enjoy reading such violent stories. :P But you have to admit, life was so easy then, eh? Don't like someone, shoot. Sick of your life, shoot. There seemed to be plenty of revolvers to go around...
ANYWAY, so that caps my slackest weekend yet. Was up till 6 a.m. chatting and reading, then woke up (officially) at 2 p.m. to read some more, left the house at 4-something and only returned after dinner (some Japanese restautant at Wheelock Place...VERY good sashimi...) at almost 8 p.m.
Then it was reading all the way till 11.15 p.m., when I finished the book.
I say bring on the next book - I found out the title, btw, The Death Of Achilles - when the holidays finally decide to roll around. Apparently it just dawned on me that in the next two weeks, I have due:
2 presentations (ICP, CD)
3 projects (CD reports, DTP bookcover, CC advertisement - of which I lack even a group!)
2 tests (ITB Excel, French oral - although they may take place in the study week instead)
Not to mention two more exams after the study week.
What a gross underestimation! It is time, once again, to be a nerd.
*runs off to do work*

Don't wanna dampen the mood of this blog so I won't go into the bad details about Friday. At all.
I just want to say, though, that this awful week started and ended on a high note - both having nothing to do with school. :P You'll find out a little later in this post.
ANYWAY, after Friday I went out for dinner at Suntec, so I didn't get home till past 9 p.m., after which I had a ton of FOM notes to type.
Speaking of FOM, the only interesting thing that happened in the lecture was when the lecturer was talking about direct mail marketing or something like that (was not particularly paying attention, due to some aggravating incident that happened prior to the start of the lecture). Anyway, he wanted to say that direct mail marketing can be conducted through fax.
Except, he said a word that rhymes with "fax" instead.
And everyone's heads suddenly shot up from their notes and the whole hall burst out laughing. It went something like this:
Lecturer: "I don't know why I said that!"
*laugh*laugh*laugh*
Lecturer: "Seriously...it's embarrassing..."
*laugh*laugh*laugh*
Lecturer: "I'm REALLY embarrassed now..."
*laugh*laugh*laugh
Lecturer: "Please stop laughing...I'm embarrassed enough..."
*laugh*laugh*laugh
Lecturer: "I need to go home and hide my face!"
*laugh*laugh*laugh
Lecturer: "Okay, I shall speak slowly from now on..."
And he did, but it didn't help reduce the amount of notes. :P
ANYWAY, after typing my notes, I read Turkish Gambit to stay awake...but it didn't work and I collapsed into bed at past 2 a.m.
What a wasted Friday.
Woke up early today (if today is Saturday...dunno what time I started blogging). Checked the alarm clock, it was 8.30 or something. Tried to sleep again but a message arrived and my phone was outside. I groaned since I didn't want to get out of bed, but suddenly my mother came in and gave me the phone. Clicked on the message...it was from some unfamiliar long number...the whole message was in CHINESE! I said, "What the hell!" and threw the phone down on my bed, then rolled over and fell asleep without reading it. Had a dream about visiting Hong Kong and watching a Liverpool match on TV, before I woke up two hours later. As I was trying to figure out why I had such a weird dream, I remembered the SMS. Dug my phone out and tried to translate the message. And you know what? The message was sent from HONG KONG!!! What the?! And you know what again? Liverpool just won some Super Cup thingy a few hours ago! I'M PSYCHIC!!!!!!!!!!! *taps head* Freaky, I tell you. REAL freaky. So back to my post. Left for Orchard at past noon with my mother. First stop: Esprit @ Liat Towers, where I wanted to get my shirt on Friday.
Anyway, it's the same blouse I was drooling over before the school year started...at that time it cost $49.90 and I'd whimper everytime I walked past it. Then during the sale it was 30% off, so before my Bangkok trip I decided $35 was still too expensive, and didn't buy.
Didn't see it anymore after that, until Friday when I went to Orchard after school. Thought perhaps it'd be 50% by now (like on the website)...
...but it was 70%!!!!!!! That's $15!!!!!!!!!!!
*is stunned at good luck*
Yeah. So we spent a lot of time at the sales corner. Eventually I got 2 shirts and my mother picked one. All at 70%. We went up to the cashier and she said we could get $10 off a regular priced item! Haha. So my mother chose a green shirt that cost $19.90.
Our total bill came up to $48-something, after all the discounts. And you wanna know how much everything would cost at FULL price?
*ahem*
$149.60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We saved more than $100!!!!!!!! *claps hands gleefully* Obviously left the place in a good mood. :P Had lunch/tea at Delifrance...mushroom quiche for me. After that wandered around all the shops before having to meet YQ at Orchard MRT. Topped up my card (which was negative), then we stepped into Popular. Had barely gotten a good look round the stationery section when Sam arrived and we had to go meet her. We walked around Wisma Atria first - Sam spent an extraordinarily long time deciding whether or not to buy a shirt (which she didn't buy), and found a white shirt (which she also didn't buy). :P Browsed around other shops but eventually had to go for dinner. *sigh* Wasn't anything to eat so we ended up at the revamped Delifrance (again!). Took a looooooooooong time deciding on our orders. Haha. If you want to know what we ate, kindly check Sam's blog. I was too lazy to take down all the French names. Well, after dinner we resumed searching for Sam's shirts, which took us from U2 to Mango to Zara to Giordano. In the end we got irritated (that is, YQ and I) and popped by Kinokuniya. So at Kinokuniya I disappeared to..........the travel guide section! Why there? 'Cos I was supposedly going to plan my upcoming (tentative) holiday!
And where am I (tentatively) going? Let's say I was given two choices on Monday (the good start to my week). And what are the two (tentative) choices I was given for my (tentative) holiday? Hmm...why don't you guessy guessy. 1: is the SS land of Harmony & Unity and 2: is the country in which an SS city-state Rose and Fell In other words, the-question-I-did-for-the-O's vs. my-favourite-chapter. Yeah. BUT STILL VERY TENTATIVE. Now back to my blog! Lalala. I went to meet Sam and YQ at the exit, but not before finding out the latest EF book, The Archilles Heel (I think that's what it's called) was out! And it's so much thicker than the other three books! Oooh...holiday reading...I get it now... My holiday's not too far away, even though there's one month more. 'Cos I've two weeks left of school (I think I have two projects and two presentations due, along with maybe an Excel test...and my French oral? Either way, the worst is over, thank goodness!) before my study week, after which the last two weeks sees me in school only on both Wednesdays (for exams). Therefore by 5.30 p.m. on the 28th of September, I AM FREE. Cannot freaking wait! :) Erm...sorry...digressed again...next we took the bus to City Hall. There was this huge traffic jam so the trip took forever. Not that we really noticed 'cos we were too busy talking. Haha. Once we reached Raffles City, YQ went to buy her butter biscuits at Marks & Spencer, then Sam went to exchange her Giordano Junior shirt (finally). After which it was getting seriously late so we headed for Cartel. Took another long time deciding what to order...I wanted ice-cream but thought better...so whilst YQ and Sam had an Oreo Cheesecake and American Cheesecake (respectively), I just settled for my Cartelina, which we all ordered too. By the time we finished everything, it was 11!!!! So we all had to rush back. As we walked to the MRT we agreed to meet online around midnight or 12.30 a.m.; then I waved goodbye and sadly walked alone to the bus stop, where I waited something like 20 mins for the stupid 145 to arrive, when I could've taken 124 instead (but didn't know). Grr. So now I've come to the end of my post and I'm sorry if it's abrupt in many parts but...too bad. Haha. Go read Sam's blog. :P And P.S. YES! Let's all drop out and enrol in Biomed next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

ERM...guess I overslept.
*yawn*
Seriously have never spent one whole day so freaking sleepy before. Not even last week, and I had so much less sleep last week! Let's see...right after our FOM presentation I was already dozing off; nearly fell off my seat in both the MRT and bus, on the way back too. Could barely stay awake during ICP (even though I wasn't listening), and for the first half of ITB I completely couldn't absorb anything - so I was left scrambling frustratedly in the second half. :P
Speaking of ICP. So I got to school and popped into the lecture theatre. Could see three classmates lurking around but chose to sit at the end of an empty row. I mean, some of them are bound to sit there.
And when the lecture started, guess what?
YES, I was still the only person sitting in the bloody row!!! No one turned up!
So, to make it look a little less empty, I tossed my bag on the next seat (to my right).
Not long after, the rejects arrived from who knows where. Couldn't be bothered to remove my bag (besides, there was A LOT of space left...) so spent the rest of the lecture being segregated. Ha. Like it would make a difference if they hadn't turned up right. :P (Btw, the rest of the class went to watch a movie)
Coincidentally, today's lecture was on Group Communication, and the lecturer was going on and on about why people join groups. She kept referring to, "I'm sure, among your little groups..." and I had a very big urge to snort. Then of course she had to mention the exceptions, all those wonderful people who much prefer to work on their own and keep to themselves. As expected I had a bigger urge to snort. Oh, yeah, she added that these people would probably be preparing themselves for leadership roles - something about it being "lonely at the top".
No, actually. I was thinking self-employment.
ANYWAY. Funny I can remember so much of the lecture, considering I wasn't even paying attention! Spent the whole time laughing to myself over some story plans. Which reminds me: I can spare some free time now! YESSSSSS!!! Type type! Read read!
...Study study. What the hell is wrong with me?!
*slaps self*
Eh...where's Sam...wanna show her some backcover drafts I did last night. Quite cute if I am allowed some self-praise, but PhotoStudio's quality is crappy and my Photoshop CS2 trial downoad is at like 6%! :P

At home now. Have to leave in slightly over half an hour. Am highly tempted to just skip ICP (for the second time this week) and go to sleep now, then return for ITB at 3 p.m.
But...I'm saving it for next week. Since Tuesday I'm gonna be half-dead coming back from SPH, and Thursday I'm likely to be released early after FOM again.
Speaking of FOM, it's done, thank goodness. Not going into details even though there were a few annoying ones I wanted to point out. However I will mention that class was moved half an hour earlier (to 8.30 a.m.) today, and my group insisted on meeting at 8 a.m., which I was highly dubious about because they're not what you would call the most punctual people in class.
So fine. 8 a.m. I went to sleep at past 3 a.m. and set my alarm for 6 a.m. It rang, I sat up and muttered, "What the hell...what the hell..." 'cos it felt like I'd just went to sleep (which was not too far from the truth!). But eventually managed to stumble into the living room and nearly collide with the wall.
Got to the classroom (locked) at 7.50 a.m., so I sat outside and read my notes. The next member of my group arrived at 8.20 a.m., two more around 8.30 and one quite late.
TOLD YOU! So you made me wake up half an hour earlier for what?!
:P
Anyway, by the end of FOM I was already nodding off since I was so tired, so when the lecturer let us off, I got out from my seat, ignored all the, "Hey, where you wanna go for lunch? Let's go to........." around me, swung open the door, walked out, down the stairs, out the school and to the MRT station. Never once looking back.
Then of course the MRT had to take ages to arrive and the bus, too, so that I almost missed my stop. But...that's another story. :P

You wake up feeling all light-headed and blank, wondering vaguely why you were in such a bad mood when you went to sleep.
Then you reach for your phone. And see the messages. Messages from one groupmate chasing you to send your PowerPoint slides over to that group member.
And then you mutter something incoherent along the lines of, "You don't expect me to be awake 24 hours to receive sms-es, do you? Some people need to sleep, considering how hard they've been working on their projects...yes, including the PowerPoint I'm supposed to send."
Thud.
Back to square one.
Sigh.
Now I'll tell you slightly more about my day. I was supposed to do more work, but ended up just reading my past entries till 11.45 a.m. Then I rushed out of the library and to the vending machines. Bought a pack of strawberry Hello Panda, after which I decided to be nice to myself and get some Skittles too. So dug out extra change, then walked a few metres to the media studio.
We had a lecture on the printing process today. I was sitting in the back row smiling insanely to myself and shaking my head. When I took that internship at Refine Printing, did I ever guess I'd be learning about their trade less than two years later? Haha.
Advertising is pretty cool. Yeah. Maybe. But if I'm gonna end there again in my third year...
Ahem.
Then we were briefed about our individual project, this celebrity bookcover thingy that Sam knows about. Anyway, it turns out that last year's project was slightly different: the students were supposed to design a bookcover of one of their classmates, pretending he/she was a famous celebrity.
That's, like, ten times more interesting than finding real celebrities, if you ask me. For one, you can get the perfect pose by taking the darn picture yourself.
Plus the fact I can't think of anyone I really want to do on. In the end stuck to Clay, considering I know where to find his biodata and pics and everything.
So anyway, our lecturer went round the lab checking out our celebrities so she could give the all-clear. She announced that we would have to talk more about the celebrity if she didn't know the person - for example if the person was a soccer player. Haha. And I wanted to do on RvN...
Well, at this point of time I had taken the liberty to slip into my own world, and my nose was practically pressed to the screen. Browsed through Clay photos and laughed about some of the poses. Suddenly my lecturer came along and asked who I was doing on.
My hand flew to my mouse to zoom in on a picture of him, and I said, "Er...I'm doing on Clay Aiken..." Before I could add, "The runner-up of American Idol 2", she said, "Okay!" and went on to the next person.
I was left feeling rather surprised. Haha.
There really wasn't much time for me to do anything during class, so I just jotted down ideas, put his picture through a few filter effects, etc. Then time to go!
Well, now I'm sitting here with that stupid FOM script still bothering me. Will get down to it right after this. Found this interesting quiz on Sue Anne's blog, so I stole it. Haha. My apologies but these little quizzies are sooooooooo fun to do!
To continue:
1. Time of starting this? 10.38 p.m.
2. Were you named after anyone? I hope not; I wouldn't exactly be doing that person proud. Haha.
3. When did you last cry? Cry. Hmm. I don't know.
5. Do you like your handwriting? It sucks. Period.
6.What is your favourite meat? Chicken. Don't eat beef and mutton.
7. What is the most embarrassing CD on your shelf? I have to admit, in general I don't like most of my CDs...
8. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you? NO. Not at all. I'd hate me, to tell the truth.
9. Are you a daredevil? Depends on what you want me to do.
10. Have u ever told a secret you swore not to tell? Ha. Yes. Not like the other party didn't deserve it. :P
11. How do you release anger? *raises eyebrow* Do you really want to know? It ranges from having a total meltdown to making acid remarks to stomping here and there to flinging things with a vicious force. Oh, and sometimes I don't do anything visible at all, which makes it more deadly when I do release it.
12. Where is your second house? I don't have a second home. And don't you even mention the place where I'm stuck from 9 to 5 almost every weekday!
13.Do you trust others easily? One answer, pure and simple: NO. I'm as suspicious/cautious as they come.
14. What was your favourite toy as a child? Don't know. Had too many at varying ages. Only my bolster has stuck around through the years.
15. What class in school do you think is totally useless? Depends on what you really want to learn from this course, but generally it's CD. Even ITB's Word tutorials were useful.
16. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sarcasm. One of three tools that get me through life.
17. What do you look for in a girl/boy? Not being on the lookout for anyone, I haven't updated the list yet. So it's still - likes to write (wants to be a journalist? hee), likes soccer, likes reading, erm...the strong silent type. Like Hakkai. Oh, and a hairstyle like Hakkai's. Speaking of which, I should just take Hakkai...
19. Would you bungee jump? Maybe. But I'd rather skydive first. I'm dying to skydive!
20. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Nope. Always make sure the laces are loose enough to slip my feet out.
21. What's your favourite ice cream flavor? Vanilla. Cookies & Cream. Strawberry Cheesecake. Mmmmmmmmmm. (no, "Mmmmmmm" isn't a flavour!)
22. What is/are your favourite color(s)? Hello? Not obvious enough?? Purple is not to be argued with!
23. What is your least favourite colour(s)? Usually grey and orange and brown. But on a good day I don't mind anything. And orange matches my favourite earrings anyway. :P
24. How many ppl do u have a crush on right now? Which part of "I'm not looking for anyone" do you not get?! (Have forgotten what it's like to have a crush even, after a very bland secondary school life.) But if you're talking fictional characters...hmm. That's different. Just forget about Bailey though.
25. What/who do you miss most right now? Who? No one particularly. I see them often enough, in the real or virtual world. ;) What? The bubble tea across the road from SHSS. *sniff*
26. What colour underwear are you wearing? Even if I wanted to tell you, I'm afraid I don't know. Who keeps track of these things?!
27. What are you listening to right now? Oasis - "The Importance Of Being Idle". Can't seem to get enough of that song lately..."I can't get a life if my heart's not in it..."
28. If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? Firstly, I don't want to be a crayon. Ever. I'll get broken and dumped somewhere or lost sooner or later. But whatever. One of those deep dark purples, I suppose. Indigo, that's it.
29. What is the weather like right now? It's night so not like I can tell.
30. Last person you talked to on the phone? My mother, yesterday after my presentation.
31. The first thing you notice about the opposite gender? Their voice, probably. Definitely not their looks, because if you know me, you'll know I never really get a good look at people.
32. Do you like the person who sent you this? I STOLE it. :P Haha. So this question doesn't make sense!
33. How are you today? The same, everyday: sick and tired and not giving up - do or die trying. Oh, and hoping everything ends. Soon.
34. Favourite drink? Anything with grape in it, seriously.
35. Favourite alcoholic drink? White wine. Haven't had the chance to try much out yet. Ask me again next year.
36. Natural hair colour? Jet black! :)
37. Eye colour? I would like to say black, but they're just a very very very dark brown.
39. Siblings? Older sister.
40.Favorite month? Tie between December and January.
41. Favourite food? Noodles, anyone? I can tell you all about Nissin...haha.
42. Last movie you watched? Bewitched. Last Wednesday.
43. Favourite day of the year? My birthday. A narcissist at heart.
44. Have you ever been too shy to ask someone out? I suppose if I ever wanted to ask someone out, yeah, I'd be too shy to do it...
45. Scary movies or happy endings? Don't like movies, so I'll go with happy endings. In books, that is. :P
46. Summer or winter? Summer, actually. Winter sucks if you're not used to it.
47. Hugs or kisses? Hugs. *hugs huskies*
48. Do you want your friends to write back? Write back to what???
49. Who is most likely to respond? No one really needs to respond, you know...
50. Who is least likely to respond? A lot of people.
51. What book/magazine are you reading? "Turkist Gambit" by Boris Akunin. So annoyed I haven't had the time to read it the past two weeks! Oh, and I don't read magazines, contrary to what people think.
52. What's on your mouse pad? My mouse is one of those optical ones that don't require a mousepad. :P
54. Favourite Smell? Quite a lot of things, actually. Amazonic (haha), Shrooms, ice-blended grape bubble tea, my bag (don't ask!).
55. Do you regret ever breaking up w/ some one? There are many things I regret in life.........yes yes, do the annoying thing and be ambiguous. :P
56. Favourite actor/actress? Don't like any in particular.
57. Your Favourite body part (your own)? Gah. I don't like a lot of things. But for this...probably my fingers. 'Cos for some reason I can scare Sam with them. And I've had people tell me my fingers were pretty noticeable when I was a baby. Oh yeah. Plus you all know how skinny they are and how rings just don't fit. Well, woe to the guy who wants to marry me...*snort*
58. Time of finishing? Oh, it's done already? 11.20 p.m.

Right. I just took half an hour to access Blogger. Stupid error on the site.
Anyway, gah. I so wanted to roll over and wake up late again this morning. Then I thought I'd better save it for next Wednesday (when I'll be doubtless needing the extra rest even more).
Got to the lecture theatre reasonably early, took out my Placing Strategy report and tried to work out my script for tomorrow's presentation. In case you were wondering, at 2.15 a.m. I finished the slides but was too tired to continue, so I didn't work much on the script.
Not that just now helped a lot. I mean, I can't seem to condense the darn report into a script! It's like everything in it needs to be mentioned!!!
*bangs head against wall*
Looks like another night staying up to memorise lines. Well, I think I can read off the script, but better remember some just in case. :P
Oh yeah, and while Blogger was down, I took the time to read some blogs. Am currently freaked out by Sam's post. Think I better check under my huskies when I get home. And rotate their positions. Haven't rotated them for a long time. Whisky-Oscar-Musher-Slush. Shall change it to Musher-Slush-Whisky-Oscar.
And then there were Ana and Edwin's blogs. Coincidentally, both their last posts were about school project problems. Coincidentally, the same school project problems I've been facing too. The whole I-want-to-do-more-but-they-will-say-I'm-not-a-team-member-but-if-I-don't-then-nothing-gets-done fix (Ana), and stop-slacking-when-other-people's-grades-are-at-stake-too-and-they're-worried-sick-but-you-don't-give-a-damn-and-make-them-rush-at-the-last-minute-because-of-you-and-your-insistance-on-procrastinating (Edwin).
Hmm. So don't go saying I'm getting uptight for nothing.
Now...on to other things.
I keep forgetting to mention something that happened last weekend. It seems I am a bad influence on my mother. We were walking around Wisma Atria and she was mentioning some tourist she'd seen when we in Takashimaya not long ago...then we stepped out of Wisma Atria and bumped into the same tourist. And you know what my mother said? You know what my mother said?
She said: "So zun!"
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!! You should've seen the look on my face! Hahahahaha. I think I used that phrase waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times in the past few years. (Although now I say qiao instead - which was exactly what I said at the same time as my mother.)
Hmm.
Oh, and btw YQ, where exactly are we going on Saturday? I want to shop! And visit Kinokuniya! :)
Well. That's all I can think of to type right now. To end off...
"Je suis du signe du lapin!"
*hops out*

Well, looks like I was the only pointless person who memorised the WHOLE script. Then again, I get more marks for that. :P
Hey, it was okay. I remembered practically everything I needed to remember, although my 5 processes were, erm, sketchy. Don't think anyone really cared though. Who the hell is interested in something like that???
Oh yeah, did I mention my shirt matched the background of my slides? (Red, btw) Totally coincidental. Haha.
Ah, the only problem was the Q & A. Heck, you should've seen how many hands were waving in the air when I asked for questions! I was like, errrr... since I had only "planted" three questions with my classmates.
I managed to worm my way out of the whole wax-package thing, and whether the styrofoam is safe for health (Nissin, thank GOODNESS, does not use styrofoam in its cup noodle packaging!). Came up with some crap number for "how many times do you think people should eat it every week?". Spent a particularly long time answering those questions I had already planted. Haha. Oh, and someone decided to pitch in and throw like two or three questions - first he raised his hand, I said, "Yes?" (keeping my face perfectly straight), then he turned away, faced the computer screen and asked the question! Like what the hell. At least I could answer the questions - Maggie, as far as I can see, is NOT the most popular brand out there. And why on earth does anyone care how many times a week I eat instant noodles? :P to you.
Anyway, I think the high number of questions led everyone to think I had planted way more questions than I really did. They even thought I had gotten someone to ask those questions. HELLO? Why would I ask someone I'm not even talking to?!
That said, at least I got a response from them. Went pretty well, I suppose. Better have gotten at least a good B for that, if I want to drag my grade up.
We were released half an hour early, which made me contemplate briefly on going home. Was walking towards the MRT station when I remembered my FOM presentation, so I quickly changed my route and headed for SB instead.
Sigh. If only I could go home now.
But I had more than enough sleep time this morning! :) First time ever. To tell the truth, I think if I had really wanted, I could've gone for the ICP lecture. I woke up on my own just 5 min past my normal time, then turned and went back to sleep again happily. Thought I'd get another good rest, but after that SMSes kept arriving in my phone, and they didn't come all at once. So for more than one hour I was constantly woken up by that annoying message tone of mine. (Remind me to change it!) And when the alarm clock finally rang, I suddenly felt more tired than before. :P
Got to school pretty early, because halfway there I was told that the venue was at the engineering block, which cuts down the walking time by A LOT. When I entered the lab, one classmate shouted, "Jessi-CA! Skip ICP lectURE!" and another went, "Slap her!"
(Yeah, you might've guessed, the second classmate was in my CC group. :P)
Anyway, I think my being second instead of first calmed me down quite a lot. Not to mention that I had done more than enough preparation - Saturday, Sunday AND Monday! Phew!
Erm. Now on to my FOM presentation...sigh. Have to remember more lines - and this time, I don't even have a proper script. Thank goodness there's no set time so I can make it as brief as possible.
But whatever. Looks like another night on my sister's laptop.

I should not be here right now. Still can't get the 5 processes into my foggy mind. Stupid processes. I should just type them out on the slide and read off them shamelessly. Except...I don't think there's enough space on that slide.
I realise now that today was in no way a good day. Like for example, I was so caught up in all my post-scriptwriting craziness that I failed to remember what happened right before class started.
Like I said, I was the one who had to spread the message around the class about the CA. Of course, all I did was tell the class rep (who would get the message across far better), and answer anyone who had any questions. Seriously, I don't think some of them believed me. Like right up to before the lecturer entered, some were still asking, "There's really a CA today ah?"
No, no, there isn't. I made that up 'cos I'm obsessed with CAs. *rolls eyes*
Anyway, then the lecturer asked if everyone had gotten the message, and one of classmates walked in and said he'd just received it. Said he didn't hear anything on Friday.
Right, like that's my fault. You want to bend the lecture rules and sit with your girlfriend instead of with the class, NOT MY PROBLEM.
Then, of course, oh-so-helpfully a characteristically late (see if you can guess who I'm talking about) classmate came in afterwards and said he hadn't gotten the message yet.
Oh, you're telling me that everyone sitting around you got the message on Friday but you didn't?
Can't remember if it was at this point that another classmate pointed out that the message was passed around on Friday and everyone should've gotten it. Would've been all grateful and everything except that I was too busy being annoyed with the others for trying to get me into trouble - intentionally or not.
Yeah, anyway, after the CA I zipped off unnoticed, bought some sausage-french-toast-thingy, and spent an unnecessary amount of time inspecting the contents of all the vending machines on the ground floor. Then it was off to the library to edit my slides and type my first blog entry.
ICP tutorial was lovely. Sat all by myself. Well, in the same row but with an obvious gap left by my classmate who had skipped the tutorial to go watch Kelly Poon sing in school. Was supposed to do some groupwork but I ended up doing the whole stupid thing by myself, not that I minded actually, just that it got pretty pointless when the groups had to go up and present.
I was one of the first to leave the room - class ended slightly early. Figured if my group even wanted me around to compile the project, they'd message, so I found a nice bench hidden on the third floor, and sat there reciting my script under my breath.
That over-one-hour took a remarkably long time to pass - I lost track of how many times I got through the script (albeit I still had problems with the processes and conclusion). Finally I got up and wandered over to the Red Bridges, where it was nice and windy and pretty much secluded. Set about pacing in front of the elevator and rehearsing (louder). I think the few people who passed me thought I was insane, really. Pacing around the Red Bridges looking deep in thought.
Anyway, I realised that it's far easier remembering lines when you're not standing still all the time - but I can't possibly walk up and down and have my back facing the darn audience! Also it's much easier to look down and recall stuff. And that's not possible either. ARGH.
Finally, I left the stupid place and headed for ITB.
ITB was...bleargh. Excel was super crappy. What nested IF, OR and AND. Why do I need to know all these???
Then the lesson finally ended (with me still not figuring out the incredibly long and elusive formula), and my group had half and hour to get the project to our lecturer. Well, the problem really all began on Friday, when on my way home I reminded the group leader to save the work in a diskette - or at least bring one to save in later.
And in ICP she suddenly turned to me and asked, "We must save the work in a diskette?"
Me: "Yes."
Her: "But I didn't bring a diskette!"
Me: "I told you on Friday!"
Well, suppose it's partly my fault. I had made a mental note to bring a backup diskette just in case she forgot, and I forgot about that. Anyway, so they bought a CD-R during the break, and during ITB had problems burning the report in.
The lecturer tried to help after class but to no avail, so we ended up requesting the assistance of one of those IT administrators in the block, who kindly helped us book a station and burn the thing properly. It worked.
But the damn CD refused to be ejected!!!
By this time we were all panicking, since it was like 15 min to the deadline. The administrator got a pin and proceeded to poke the CPU...until finally the CD popped out. Then we rushed all the way to our lecturer's office (which thankfully was on the same floor) and handed it to her personally.
Then the group left - I was the last to step into the narrow room so obviously first to leave. Turned to walk in the direction we had come from, and heard some characteristically annoying voice saying loudly, "Let's walk this way."
Heard their voices echoing away from me and you know what?
I almost wanted to thank him. By being spiteful he just handed me exactly what I wanted.
Mwahaha. So hurried home without having to converse with anyone.

At 2 a.m. on a Monday morning, when you're bored out of your mind staring at the same PowerPoint slides and script over and over again...you start to notice things. Weird things.
Like I was staring at the word "NISSIN" for the thousandth time since the first week of Term 2...and it dawned on me...
That "NISSIN" is a palindrome! Yup, a palindrome! It reads the same way from both directions.
Not bad. Well done, Jessica!
Now kindly start memorising your script.
ARGH. Brought a little cue card with "The 5 Processes in Instant Noodle-Making" written on it, so I can get down to burning it in my brain. Apparently haven't had the chance to take a look at it yet.
Well, not really that I haven't had a chance, I've just been too lazy. Arrived in class 10 min early, slacked about, and when the lecturer came in and handed round the question paper, I nearly burst out laughing in disbelief.
So...the scenario: you're working for this creative communications firm, and your firm's been hired to write a play advertising Fun Fizz, a new drink that sparkles (???) and pops in your mouth. The play's to be performed outside Takashimaya, in the open-air. The play must be no more than 3 scenes long, and must involve three characters: Professor Timmons, his wife Anne Guish, and the gardener (also Anne's ex-boyfriend) Jack Assassin. (Followed by some details on their complicated history, including some of the prof's inventions before Fun Fizz)
Now, basically I was laughing at three things:
1) What's with promoting fizzy drinks??? First we had to design a phamphlet for OJ Twist in DTP, now this? And, really, "Fun Fizz"???
2) Wahahaha. How clever. The names - Anne Guish and Jack Assassin. Get it? ANne GUISH? JACK ASSassin? (Can't figure out Professor Timmons though)
3) WHAT ON EARTH CAN I WRITE ABOUT THIS??????????????????????????
The last one, of course, was hysterical laughter. I'm surprised I even managed to think up of a plot and fit it into three scenes - the introduction, the climax, the resolution. As it turned out, I managed to factor in the professor's other inventions. Let's see, according to the brief, he previously invented 1) a B.O. perfume, 2) an edible soap, and 3) a tasteless sugar.
And his new invention is called Fun Fizz. And Jack is jealous and out to get revenge. And the professor is scatterbrained. So...why don't I have Jack attempt to steal the Fun Fizz sample, and have Anne stop him?
That's where the other inventions come in. Since the professor is so scatterbrained, in his haste to leave he only labels the Fun Fizz bottle as "FF". But what if...he has a few other bottles also labelled "FF"?
And then the B.O. perfume became "Foul Fumes", the edible soap turned to "Fibbing Fix" (a truth serum...yes YES, I was thinking about veritaserum!)...and the tasteless sugar, "Flavourless Fructose".
Who'd know Bio'd come in so handy? :)
ANYWAY, after that I happily spent the 1 hr 45 min remaining to type the darn thing out. Thought I'd have enough time, but was rushing at the end. Did NOT help that everyone was standing up to hand in their work, and the next class was waiting impatiently outside. The script came to a total of 7 pages! Gah...well, they didn't give a word limit or a limit on the amount of dialogue in each scene! :P
Don't think I did justice to the description of Fun Fizz, which was the whole point of the play, but what the heck. You think it's so easy fitting everything inside??? :P
ARGH. 5 min to ICP. Better rush off now.

Weekend update!!!
Weekends are so crazily short, it's almost cruel.
Now wait, it is cruel.
I was up till past 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, doing Friday's work. Well...of course, the time I took to finish my FOM notes, ICP objectives, and bibliography wasn't that long...I just lacked any inspiration (owing to my undisguised dislike of PS) to do the stupid objectives. It sucks when you have to continually sing praises about something you don't like, you know?
ANYWAY, yeah, it was mostly the objectives that sapped my night away. FOM notes were amazingly short for a 2-hour lecture - about as much as a usual 1-hr lecture! - and biblio...well, there's not much to bibliographies.
Of course, that's not to say those three were the only things I had to do. Switched over to my sister's laptop sometime in the vicinity of 4 a.m. maybe, just to do my FOM slides, which for the moment are very brief and crappy - but you can't expect much from someone who's nearly crying with fatigue at 5.30 a.m. in the morning. Anyway, I'll have Tuesday night and the whole of Wednesday (aiming to skip FOM lecture this week, but don't think I will eventually - considering I'm already skipping ICP on Tuesday) to touch it up.
Then of course I was too dead tired to get started on memorising my OC script...so collapsed into bed (and I mean "collapsed"!!!).
Saturday I only managed to drag myself out of bed at 11-something; had lunch and my mother decided we should take a different bus route to Orchard.
Well, I can sum up the whole bus ride in one sentence: "Are we there yet? Why so long? Where we stopping ah? I WANT TO SHOP! I don't care where, I just WANT TO SHOP! SHOP SHOP SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!"
So yeah, I think we were both pretty glad to get off the bus. First stop was Mango, where I walked right up to a table piled with shirts and said, "I want that! And that! And that colour too! Aiya...just get all lah!"
In the end I got my sanity back and ended up with a total bill of $41 (3 shirts), which funnily enough, I wasn't the least bit hesitant to part with. Gee, I really did need a break...
I thinky I shall go and get some more next week.
ANYWAY, then I didn't find anything else worth buying, although we browsed around a few other places, including Esprit (no more flower blouse...*sniff*), Zara (nothing nice and purple) and Topshop (no nice earrings).
Dinner was a particularly awkward affair, don't ask why, at some cool Italian restaurant in Labrador Park.
Got back home early, waited around for the results of the Man U match (fav player scored, in case you haven't noticed my nick), then promptly had a nap that went into overtime by 2 hours. :P Went to check the other scores (another fav player scored, don't ask who), then locked myself in the room and read my script over and over again till my throat was sore. Well, okay, I drank a cup of water after each reading, but it was still sore.
And you know what? I think I can only - for sure - remember the first one and a half pages. The next two pages are blank in a lot of parts. Blank in my mind, that is. :P
Have to go lock myself in again!
Oh, now where were we? Yes, Sunday. Woke up thinking of going to look for earrings, or take photos...but it was raining so hard so I couldn't do both (since I needed the window to take my pic). In the end kind of lazed around working out little problems in some nice (or rather Nese) story I've been planning to write (when this stupid week ends, I WILL!), then read through my script before my sister suggested we go to HarbourFront and Plaza Singapura.
Basically all we did was look at shoes (for her) and earrings (for me). Went out really late so by the time we returned it was like 7.30 p.m. Had dinner, my bath, and have now finished this post. :) P.S. Well, okay, not really finished with this. I just found out when my ICP presentation is...next Monday!!! Like what the hell, I thought I'd be over and done with the presentations for at least a week...grr. Now please don't tell me I have to stay in school to do the slides for the 4 hours this Friday, because I already planned to go home and sleep and de-stress. I mean, have you see my list of events lately? After Thursday, four events would've been struck off! And really, as if it isn't enough that on Friday, while I was sitting all alone in the lecture theatre before FOM (I mean "alone" - I was the only person in the darn place, and it was only ten minutes to the start of the lecture!), I had to receive a call from my CC lecturer. I was, like, ermmmmmmmm...why is she calling?! And turns out she couldn't reach my class rep (so don't ask me why she tried calling me instead - and even more bizarre, where did she get my number?) to tell him that our scriptwriting CA is first thing Monday morning. Gah. And here I was hoping the CA wouldn't materialise, or at least wouldn't be on yet. I mean, is it really too much to ask for a week's break after all the frustrations of finishing, editing, rehearsing and acting out our plays? Yesssssssssssss, apparently it is. And like I said, my scriptwriting is L-O-U-S-Y. Wish me luck. Oh! And did I mention that I want to buy a CD? Yup yup. Unfortunately there isn't anymore space in my MMC card...................................

Once again. Slacking.
Oh whatever. It's a Friday and I've had more than enough of this stupid sleepless week.
Anyway, about my day:
My group planned to meet half an hour early to rehearse for our play (which, as I said before, was badly in need of a rehearsal). I woke up half an hour late, which nearly freaked me out, but then I got my wits together again and realised that since I usually snooze for an extra 15min, I only had the extra 15min to make up for.
Which I did! I even got to school early.
...Of course, that's not to say the rest of the group did. :P We hardly had time to practise properly, because one member unfortunately turned up too late for it. In fact, the whole class only trooped into the LC Studio at 9.15 a.m.
We drew lots and DAMN, ours was the first group. Our last member arrived just in time, but we had barely worked out anything yet. She had brought the flower Hot Guy was supposed to present to Bitch, though, and at the last minute I suggested to Hot Guy that after I'd thrown the flower back at him, he'd pick it up and walk off to "find Gillian from the next class".
Right before the first scene commenced, I decided I would do away with my specs completely and use only my sunglasses as props. First scene went off all right - since it only involved three people. :P At the flashback I got up, stuck the sunglasses in my hair, strode over and rammed unnecessarily hard into Nerd, then turned, gave what I hoped was a look of contempt, and walked off.
Unfortunately I had forgotten I was the narrator for the start of scene 2 - and coupled with the dim lights...erm, just say I had problems differentiating between all the punctuation marks and stresses. And I wrote that part myself!!! Sheesh.
The problem started right after Nerd and Bitch entered scene 2 - for me it was because my back was facing the lecturer, who had unfortunately chosen to sit at the side. So no matter what I did, she wouldn't be able to see my expressions. Bleargh.
Then the main part of the story started...up till scene 3 I don't think there was a problem, other than Hot Guy missing the "what, you gonna throw your books at me?" line...but then...
Scene 3. I made it through the cheesy lines without laughing, smiled what I hoped was a sickening lovey dovey smile (which really made me feel sick!). Behind me Nerd was throwing away a picture of Bitch - not planned, but interesting. Then everyone got seated and Uptight suggested we all talk about our ambitions.
That's when everyone started forgetting their lines.
Seriously!!! Having read the script like a dozen times during editing, I could roughly remember who would say what. So it was quite horrifying to realise that everyone was taking over everyone else's lines, particularly Noisy Girl. Was actually quite relieved she remembered so much of the others' lines, until the play got to its climax, where everyone gets into an argument and walks off.
WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN: Oddball recounts seeing Hot Guy and Noisy Girl kissing. Bitch slaps Hot Guy, who takes out notepad and marks her off, commenting something like, "Girlfriend No. ###...lasted 2 months...not bad...broke my previous record". Noisy girl says, "I can explain! I can explain!", Bitch says, "Forget it, Annie!" and storms off. Then Uptight tries to calm everyone down, but Hot Guy goes off in search of a new girlfriend, Noisy Girl scolds Oddball who subsequently leaves, then Nerd gets up to go to the library.
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED: The recount went off as planned (Oddball's expression=very amusing), slapping was a little too rushed (completely my fault), the two lines: "How can you slap my gorgeous face?!" & "Gorgeous? Even my POODLE looks better than you!!!", then the notepad part. Having nothing else better to do, I stood behind looking angry and breathing hard, waiting for Noisy Girl to speak so I could leave.
Except she never did. All of a sudden there were a lot of characters talking. Then Oddball left and Nerd got up (prematurely) to head for the library, and I knew I was going to be in big trouble. So I just cornered Noisy Girl, said loudly, "You owe me an explanation, Annie!", which was entirely not the best thing to say, because I couldn't do anything about her explanation other than to go, "ARGH!!!!", fling the rose (too forcefully - hit Noisy Girl instead of Hot Guy), and storm away finally.
Before scene 4 started I was apologising profusely to my classmate (a.k.a Noisy Girl), haha. Then the scene shifted back to the present and Bitch and Noisy Girl were really apologising as per the script. I was supposed to say, "...He's rich and gorgeous..." but somehow it turned into, "...He's smart...rich and gorgeous..." The moment "smart" left my mouth I was like, what? Where did THAT come from???
After that Oddball revealed that she had fulfilled her ambition - nothing wrong there, and then Uptight mentioned she was married. After that came a whole chunk of mixed-up lines, culminating in (I think) Uptight forgetting to ask if anyone wanted to be her son's godmother. So Noisy Girl's reply to that didn't materialise, and as that had been the cue for me to interrupt and say, "Okay everyone, let's toast to our reunion", Noisy Girl happened to say it instead of me.
I thought, oops..., and as we raised our cups only one thing was apparent:
We had so screwed it. Very true, 'cos the other two groups had their plays run far more smoothly, since they didn't have so many messy flashbacks and stuff. After it all our lecturer sat evaluating the plays (and some of the actors) out loud. For some reason she felt the need to add me in at the last second, which wasn't very good. Said I wasn't bitchy enough (which I shall take as a compliment that I'm a good, gentle, sweet liiiittle girl), and that I could've played up my bitchiness more since I'm the most "model-esque" person in my class. Yes, those were her exact words, followed (highly unnecessarily) by an elaboration, something like, "Doesn't (name of blog owner) appear to you like the sort of person who...blah blah made up...would blah blah be one of those models?" No, actually, (name of blog owner) doesn't appear to me that way. Flattering all the same, but I'd rather hide under my seat, okay? Then the talk happily moved on to the specialist diploma, and how the class is more-or-less interested in it. So the lecturer asked who was REALLY interested in it, and only 3 or 4 really were. And of all things she had to look at me and ask specifically if I wasn't interested. Had to be honest and say I wasn't that interested. :P After which she added, "But I can see you as a scriptwriter." And I can also honestly say my scriptwriting sucks. Found that out (coincidentally around this time) 4 years ago. Besides, if I'm that keen on scriptwriting, isn't there already an elective for that in the third year? :P Oh, and then the warning: "The seniors (the first batch, btw) taking it this semester...some are complaining that the workload is too heavy. Not the workload of the specialist diploma but the workload of the main diploma, because Year 2 is full of heavy theoretical stuff...so yeah, if you're one of those people who thinks Year 1's a breeze so far, it'll be okay. For those who have been struggling and already don't have time to do your own stuff.............." Great. Would I be under the first or second category, I wonder? There are many times when it occurs to me there is actually too much time given to study for so few exams. But somehow I still end up sacrificing almost everything - sleep, reading, writing, television - just to get my work done. Albeit a lot is just revision which isn't compulsory, and I never mention it but on many occasions I think, you know, not revising tonight won't kill you. Just go to sleep or read or something. And then I decide I'm not really interested in doing anything else, so too bad. You know. Like I enjoy not having a life...

Hello. Yet another nap-less day. Damn my life is getting worse and worse.
Well, I could've had that well-needed nap. It's not my fault PowerPoint vanished from my com and I have to use my sister's laptop to do my presentations. So since she wasn't home for dinner this evening, I took the chance to work on my OC slides.
Had to force myself to get most of them done and the animations added; was nearly falling off the chair at one point. I need pictures for two more slides so I'm back here now and will search for them after I post this.
What? Oh yeah, my Thursday. Actually overslept again; woke up and nearly had a heart attack when I saw "7:47" on my clock. That's the time I go and change out of my pyjamas, and at 7.47 a.m. I'd be rushing around trying to find my planned-outfit-of-the-day. But by 7.47 a.m., I'd have also finished washing up and having my breakfast...
Leapt out of bed, trying to believe that if I worked reeeeaaaaaalllllly fast, I might still be able to catch the 8.30 a.m. bus. Thought I wouldn't have time for breakfast, but thankfully managed to squeeze eating time right before I burst out of the front door.
And yes, I caught the 8.30 a.m. bus. I ended up slightly late, but no more than 10 min off. As usual, though, the FOM classroom was nearly empty except for the same early people every Thursday. The lecturer was talking about something; I caught snitches of "$2 million" but didn't find out what he was going on about. Then he mentioned something along the lines of everyone in our block, including the ICT students, have to take marketing. And they have to factor in the fact that a lot of ICT students got Ds for English, so the lecturers had to make FOM easy to understand.
Well, SURPRISE! It's not. :P
ANYWAY, then I was seated and we were given the choice of either having our tutorial, or using the 3 hours to work on our project presentations. No one could make up their minds so we had the tutorial instead.
The only interesting thing that happened in FOM was me managing (hopefully) to bump my class participation grade up by answering a few questions. More relieved than happy, really, because the questions had to do with pricing strategies and it seems I've absorbed something from my studying. Thank goodness, or else I don't know what I'd do...
FOM ended like one and a half hours later, which left two and a half hours of break before our ICP lecture. All the groups were using the break to practise their CC plays, but the guys in my group kindly decided pool was more important and left us. And since two of the other members hadn't turned up for FOM, we had to wait for them too before we could start anything concrete.
Had lunch first, then they arrived and we went about planning each character's outfits and all the props needed. Obviously couldn't do a trial run so we sat there talking (okay, I was listening far more than I was talking) until it was lecture time. Wanted to skip but in the end headed to the MLT. Was crazily cold inside!!! The lecture was nothing special - half the time I was dozing off, till my nose nearly touched my notes - and the last fifteen minutes or so, another lecturer came in to tell us all about the Specialist Diploma in Digital Film & Television.
All I could think was, how come they don't have a Specialist Diploma in Journalism??? But I paid attention anyway. Apparently, to even be considered for the 20-student course, you need to:
1. Have a grade average of not less than 65%.
2. Get a B in CC (very possible if we don't screw up our play) and a B in OC (my A+ script shouldn't have pulled my C+ first presentation up much, so I'm really REALLY counting on the second presentation).
3. Pass next semester's Digital Video Production & Applications module.
AND on top of it all, the course costs $1500, $500 paid each semester.
So obviously, when the lecturer asked us to recall the criteria for getting into the course, there were a lot of people who said, "must have $1500!".
ANYWAY, then brochures were passed around and when I finally got mine (I was sitting way back in the MLT), I realised it was brochure for our course. Like, the second page is headlined "Why enrol in the Diploma in Media & Communication course?"
Yeah sure. I'd really like some reasons encouraging me to enrol in a course I've already enrolled in! :P
The third page talks more about the Specialist Diploma though, but not much. "Is open to students who satisfactorily pass the first year of their DMC course" isn't very specific; it's almost an understatement!
NOW, the interesting part of the brochure - the part we could all have done with before enrolment. On the back page is the complete list of modules we'll be taking over the three years. I mentioned the above because, until now, a lot of students in my course don't even know what modules we'll be taking in future years. There's something seriously freaky about that - I mean, you came here without knowing what you were in for???
Anyway, seeing the three columns of module names is quite an eye-opener. Like, I counted and we'll be taking no less than 37 modules!!! Is that crazy or what?! And it puzzles me again why we take so many modules that sound very similar - I think 8 modules have the word "management" somewhere inside. For example, why cover that long chapter in FOM on Consumer Behaviour, when there's a whole module dedicated to it next year? Why can't they just chuck Legal Systems & Contracts together with Media Law & Ethics? What's the difference between Digital Video Production & Applications, and Digital Media Applications? Wouldn't it save time to drop Introduction to Public Relations & Advertising, since we're going to do Advertising Management and Public Relations Management & Practices the next year? Why is there an elective in Scriptwritng when scriptwriting is covered in both CC and the specialist diploma? What's Writing For The Media around for if we already have News Writing, Feature Writing and Writing For The Web?
Okay. Shall not complain about the last one. ;) Lalala. We didn't leave the MLT after the lecture, to my dismay, 'cos the majority of my group wanted to practise there. We staked out the back row of the theatre, with another group right in front. The first trial run was marred with a lot of hiccups, especially when the Nerd shoved the Hot Guy as per the script, but the Hot Guy ended up yelping and stumbling backwards, through the door behind him and into the middle of the third group's rehearsal. There was also a lot of confusion over the copies of the script a few of us had - totally my fault because I can't stop editing after already sending the file to someone. *sheepish grin* I think we had two or three trial runs (all very dissatisfying!) before our one hour was up and we were all late for ITB. Like I said, we were already late but most of my classmates went to the foodcourt to buy food, whilst the others waited for the elevator. I decided to just run upstairs on my own; got there a good deal earlier than the elevator people! The class was empty for once (usually the class before that is still inside), apart from my lecturer, who actually said my name when I entered! Wow! I mean, she finally remembered...and, well, I sort of had an inkling why she could remember. We started on Excel again, that dratted program, and I was kinda behind at the start of the lesson 'cos I was busily transferring the script's file to my groupmate's thumbdrive. Somehow by the middle of the lesson I finished our assignment so fast that the lecturer asked me if I had done it, or just opened the model file. :P So that left me with a lot of time to surf the Net secretly (until I was caught with Sam's blog on my taskbar...). During that time, apparently the class blog was flooded with so many tags that the chatterbox crashed. Hahahahahaha. After our Excel work for the day, we got back our Word ICA and I subsequently got yelled at by my classmates for getting a 95. :P In the dying minutes of our ITB lesson, my groupmates begged our lecturer to use her account and do some printing for us ('cos the script's 10 pages long and we'd have to pay a lot); when she finally agreed, one of them changed the number of copies to 6 before she had a chance to stop her! Haha. So I just stayed in front of the printer and collated the scripts. We spent the next 20 min or so doing another rehearsal, minus the Nerd. And where did we do it? Right in the middle of the carpark below the lab! Some of our other classmates came to watch, and in the end we decided to just occupy two parking lots. I don't think that rehearsal went very well either - must not NOT laugh hysterically in Hot Guy's face when he's doing his "cheesy pick-up lines"...because they are SUPER CHEESY!!! All "do you know why I'm so tired everyday? Because I spend every night thinking of you...blah blah blah..." ANYWAY. Then it was time to go home. Got home at 6 p.m. And crap!!! So late!!! Must go find my pictures!!!

Why am I blogging? I should be sleeping.
A good example of an "incident whereby Jessica can't fathom why she's doing what she's doing".
You know, this week is only halfway through but I don't think it's going too well. Like Sunday, for example - went to bed at 3 a.m. I think (gee, what's with this week and sleeping at 3 a.m.???), couldn't get to sleep, and when I finally did, had what I would consider as one of my all-time worst nightmares. No seriously. I brought my four stuffed huskies out for a walk (okay...don't ask!), then this crazy old lady stole them!!!
*reader now realises Jessica is completely insane*
ANYWAY, so it's no surprise I ended up oversleeping. And not minor-oversleeping as usual, but oversleeping by 3 hours. I was like rolling lazily over to the other side, subconsciously thinking, "Ahhhhhhhh...so nice...oh, yeah...have to go for CC..."
Then..."EH!!!! Didn't the alarm ring a long time ago? Why is the sun so bright outside? OH NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
At first I thought I wouldn't even be able to make it for my second class (ICP tutorial), but after factoring in our one hour break, I realised my timing was just right - as if ICP was my first lesson and I had woken up especially for it.
ICP was considerably all right; I didn't pay attention in ITB though. For obvious reasons. (read: see third-last post) Excel is reeeeeeaaaaaallllllly crappy by the way. I don't see why I need to know Excel, at least during my time in poly. And after that I shall try my best not to get a job that involves the stupid program!
Tuesday, now, was slightly better. Had a two-hour break after the ICP lecture (which I would gladly have skipped if I hadn't been anticipating an entertaining blowup - which unfortunately didn't occur), during which I went with a group of my classmates to Jurong Point (which is pretty cool although I have bad memories of it from the SP Flag Day). Lunch took up a large chunk of time, so we didn't have much to spare after that, aside from buying earrings (don't ask). Then they somehow got mesmerised by the plasticising-mobile phone booth, until we knew we were going to be late.
Reached class 15 min late in the end. Just our luck, for the first time our lecturer wasn't late for 15 min. Sigh. Got back our speeches, did a reflection on the module (somehow I was the last to get up and present), then class ended.
Was so not looking forward to French, considering how tired I was. But I pulled through, even though it stretched all the way to 8.05 p.m.
Well, then there's today. To continue from my last post, I managed to get 3 of my OC slides done. I have to admit, the speech thing was a good idea after all. Now I don't need to bother about what to put in which slide and how many slides to have, since I already wrote everything in the script. (Apparently not everyone was pointless enough to type stuff like "[Slide 10 - Picture of Cup Noodle]", and it sure took up a lot of time, but it earned me an A and it's making my life easier so what the heck!) Oh, and obviously, I needn't bother about what I'm going to say too. Haha. Just have to cut down some of the script, since I don't have a good opinion of my memory. :P
DTP started late, thanks to seniors-rushing-for-projects. Then it was juniors-rushing-for-projects. Haha. Am proud to say I figured out how to stretch and skew the label so that it fit perfectly on our chosen drink can design (which was shaped like an hourglass, so it was no mean feat). After that there was nothing for me to do, so tried to pitch in by thinking up of a tagline for the inside of the pamphlet. Came up with "STOP DROOLING AND START DRINKING" But in the end, with a lot of delays, I think our group handed in the assignment 5 min late. Sigh. Two marks off I suppose.
Although I'll come right out and admit that I wasn't as bummed about handing it in late, than missing this journalism talk (by a foreign journalist) at 2 p.m. I mean, hello, some people (and how ironic, the media students) have classes till the maximum of 3 p.m. on Wednesdays! And obviously we didn't finish our project in time for me to go. Bleargh. Maybe I shall just go into advertising. Oh. And there was another sarcastic "incident" in the room connected to our DTP lab. Talk about "chickening out", waiting till it was only the usual group in there to make your crap remarks! We were pondering on our group name and the #$%^& suggested sarcastically, "How about The Obnoxious Group?" To hell with you, you're not in our group and we certainly don't need your input. Unfortunately my group just thought the #$%^& was making some funny, harmless joke, so I didn't get my chance to shove open the door, stand in the doorway and shout, "Look who's REALLY the one scared of showing your true colours! If you have a problem with me, then say it to my face and damn well don't take it out on my whole group! And it sure says a lot about you, doesn't it, when my groupmates are your friends!"
Maybe tomorrow. I sincerely hope the #$%^& turns up (you know, the #$%^& hasn't had such a clean attendance record since the whole "chickening out" sms...what a hypocrite!), because we happen to be in the same group and at any slight provocation, in front of everybody, I'll give it my all. I'm not the one afraid of showing my "true colours". Besides, it's proof that you don't know me if you never knew I have a tendency to do and say drastic things without warning, when provoked. And provoked I am now.

I think I'm going to collapse at any moment.
Seriously. I can't believe I actually stayed the whole day awake yesterday, until 3 a.m.
So that's less than 4 hours of sleep last night, and I haven't yet made up for Monday's loss of sleep. Oh hell.
Not to mention my Nap Day has to be sacrificed again today. I think I shall just sleep in the cinema later. That's provided I even last through DTP.
Grr. Knew I shouldn't have turned up for the FOM lecture just now. Three extra hours of sleep I could've had! But never mind. I've quite decided that I'll skip next week's lecture instead. Anyway, at least I accomplished what I had wanted to, er, accomplish. Gave the edited script to one of my group members and dashed off to have lunch before anyone could complain about it.
Hey, they did give me the liberty to edit anything I wanted. And because I had to change one whole scene's setting, a lot of the dialogue had to be tweaked to fit in - without altering the dialogue too much from its original. So because I had to change the scene from a school to a cafe, and the characters were all complaining, "What's taking (name of teacher) so long???", I changed it to, "What's taking the food so long to arrive???"
Haha. But that was the easy part. Sigh. Didn't finish editing the whole thing (kind of gave up towards the last few lines - got sick of reading through the 10.5 pages over and over again!) till slightly past midnight.
And that was the first piece of work I had to do. :P
By the time I managed to get most of my stuff done, it was 3 a.m. Hurrah.
I brought my French book along today; figured the verbs and sentences out over lunch just now. Have to start on my OC PowerPoint presentation next, before DTP begins.
ARGH.
But at least, there's good news. During the lecture our DTP lecturer came in and told us the SPH trip has been postponed by a week. YESSSSSSSSSS!!! So I won't have to go to school early in the morning next Tuesday (for the trip), stick around for ICP and my OC presentation, and only go home at 8 p.m. after French. At least now I can skip ICP (:P) and go home and rest for a little while, before returning for OC, relaxed knowing that my presentation's done. :)

Now that THE VERY EVIL & ANGSTY POST has been posted, let's go on to very normal things.
I've been feeling very terribly guilty since last night. NO, of course not about the sms-es *rolls eyes* - I wasn't the one who started it - but it's something related to it.
I've been feeling very terribly guilty because my mother had a seriously bad day yesterday and I was too freaking busy with my own stuff to sit down and listen to her. By "busy" I mean not only with thinking up evil things to do and say today, but also busy discussing our CC script (it seriously needs to be edited) with my group on MSN (and subsequently moving on to some touchy matters, which are gradually being resolved, if today's anything to go by), also trying to have a conversation with Sam in another window, and figuring out my mess of FOM notes.
Did everything in the end, except maybe listen to my mother.
Bad, BAD girl.
*sniff*
Oh a side note, though, I'm unfortunately going to be busy for the rest of this week and most of next week. Apparently, the CC script's not only going to be handed in this Friday, it has to be performed on the same day! ARGH! Haven't edited the script properly, much less took the time to memorise my lines!!!!
Then, of course, I won't be getting as nice a weekend as I'd hoped, because on Tuesday I'm likely to be the first person to do my OC presentation on cup noodles. Speaking of that presentation, we just got back our script. As a true testament to the difference between Jessica Yeo's written and spoken English, the straight-C+ girl got an A+ on that script. Now, if only I can memorise the 1000-over words in that script, and stay calm enough for the stupid presentation. Shall practise over the weekend.
So you'd think, oooooh, Jessica's free after that! But no, my FOM group (if I ever get around to not killing one of the members) also happens to be the unlucky first group to do our presentation on Thursday!
That's three presentations in less than a week, and two PowerPoint presentations to work on over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...what? Oh yeah, almost forgot. Our ICP report is due on Monday and if I ever get around to not killing the same groupmate, there's still quite a bit left to do before we can hand it in. Then the next week, our CD pre- and post-CIP reports are due. Thankfully, I had the sense to squeeze my post-report during the holidays, but the pre-report is group work, and I'll have to work with the same groupmate who might by then already be dead.
Ah. And I almost forgot. FOM report due in tomorrow (done, at least) and DTP group project too (NO, not in the same group). Particularly worried about the DTP project because we've still got a lot to do (we haven't even started on the most essential - the drink bottle design - and we won't have the full 3 hours to work on it), no thanks to a key member deciding it was time to leave last week, after working on it halfway.
So why am I blogging when I should be starting on my presentations or editing the script???
Eh...wait...I don't even have Microsoft PowerPoint on my computer...
Jessica wrote home at 4:27 pm
Hmm. No argument as yet.
That's damn sad. I suppose I have after French class to think about.
I never chicken out, damn you. And I certainly don't need to be warned against chickening out by someone who skips school every other day. Not to mention a someone who's gay and has an ego too big for this campus.
THERE. I'd like to see you call me stupid to my face. I mean, how many times did you call me that in your SMSes? You think you're so damn smart? Gee, then why doesn't anyone realise that?
You have a problem with me "not giving a damn" about my mother tongue? Then tell me why it's any of your business when 1) you're not even Chinese, 2) you dye your hair, you poser, and 3) your favourite singer is Mariah Carey! Or rather, just don't use the above as a CRAP excuse for your CRAP English!!!
What, you think I'm scared of your diva-esque attitude? You think I'm going to shriek and run away when I see you flapping your hands about, as usual? You think I'm some sort of a pushover?
Too bad for you. It's time YOU learnt you can't get away with being rude to people for no reason, just because you think you're some big shot and everyone's too timid or slow to get that you're being sarcastic.
Oh, and why the hell were you telling me to "stop replying, pest" when I wasn't even replying? And you're calling others dumb, seriously...
$#!^&* idiot.

Okay, now to Part II.
(Yeah yeah, know it's late and everything, but I was busy the whole day today. As for last night, thank goodness I managed to finish my second round of project work quickly...gave myself a break and enjoyed three full chapters of Turkish Gambit!)
So after CC, we had that usual 4 hour break till our FOM lecture. Couldn't go home this week since we were supposed to be working on ICP, but I suppose it's better than dragging it even longer. Anyway, after lunch we went straight to the library, which was reeeeeeeeaaaaaaallly crowded, so it took some time to book 3 adjacent computers (for six people), then get six chairs to fit in among the mass of chairs around us.
I had my stuff all printed out so I didn't really need to do anything on my computer. The leader hadn't done her work (surprise!) so she set about reading her lecture notes and churning something out. To my left one of my groupmates was typing out a soft copy of her part of the project.
In the end I took advantage of the situation and squeezed in FOM work. :P
Like I said, two of my groupmates for ICP are in my FOM group, so I spent one hell of a long time assigning tasks to send and edit reports (one group member was particularly rude about getting to edit - it was supposed to be done by the other groupmate and I - and I had a huge urge to throw my mouse at his head) over the weekend, with me doing most of the editing and all the appendixing. That sorted out, I was feeling very accomplished. Then the leader finished her report so we compiled all our work in the order required. There were some unassigned tasks left; we discussed that but didn't plan anything concrete.
Then it was almost 3 so we headed for the lecture theatre. The same groupmate decided to be annoying by refusing to inform the rest of the FOM group about their tasks, instead whining (yes, whining) something lame like, "I'm not your toy!"
Well, of course you're not my toy, right?
...cos I treat them better. *rolls eyes*
Anyway, since I was in a particularly good mood, I didn't punch him in the face and instead bounded over to tell them myself. Then I settled down in time for the lecture, and when it was finally over, I once again left in a hurry.
P.S. On a side note, I just realised I'm kinda behind my FOM work. There's this void between the first three chapters (which were tested in our CA) and the last few chapters on strategies, in which I can't recall a single thing. I know I read through MIS at least once, and market segmentation, targeting and positioning right before I left on holiday...but consumer behaviour...ARGH...no life...

Pity I didn't post last night, I was in such a good mood. I was all ready to go, "WHHHHHHEEEEEEEEE!!! The weekend!!!!!!!!"
But of course, I had a ton of project work to edit and appendix - and being the sad perfectionist that I am, that took me well past 6 a.m. to finish.
That's not all, of course. I'm currently online waiting for an influx of more reports to edit, appendix, and send back.
...But I'm online so early because I wanted live updates of the Man U game.
Which, by the way, they WON!!! And guess who scored the first goal - the first this season?????
*bounces*
Okay. Back to yesterday. 145 royally screwed me up again. I missed the quarter-past bus, and the half-past one usually arrives at around 8.25 a.m. ... but NO, by 8.35 it still hadn't arrived! And arriving at 8.25 a.m. already barely gives me enough time to get to class...
Got to class like around 10 min late, I think. But it's CC and CC usually starts late so wasn't too bothered - I certainly wasn't the last to arrive. :p
Had to break into our groups and get finally get started on our script. Remind me to mention (to the group on Monday) that the script gets off-topic very often. But I shall just tell you about it anyway.
Scenario (under the theme "Homecoming"): six friends with different personalities (yeah yeah, we weren't trying to copy Friends but our group happens to have six people) were, erm, friends (haha) back in poly like ten years ago. Why they were friends (considering their widely-differing personalities) is beyond any of the writers, but the point is that right before graduating, something happened that caused some of them to drift apart, and after that they all stopped meeting up...even though, very oddly, some of them still kept in contact.
Anyway, the six personalities are: 1. The uptight, serious girl who wants to be a lawyer, 2. The noisy, gossiping girl who wants to be (I think) a celebrity talk show host, 3. The nerdy guy who wants to be an astronaut, 4. The class bitch who wants to marry a rich guy, 5. The oddball, one-liner girl who wants to be a fashion designer, and 6. The "hot" guy with the big ego, who wants to have as many girlfriends as possible.
So...you wanna guess which character I'm playing?
ANYWAY, the story goes (so far) that before they graduated, Bitch and Hot Guy were dating (how typical), then Bitch thought Hot Guy was cheating on her with Oddball Girl, so they broke up. And obviously now there's bad blood between them.
But Nerd, you see, has always liked Bitch (WHY??? WHY??? Guys.). Sometime within the ten years, they get together (since Nerd is now a rich guy and everything, plus he's not a wimp anymore and Bitch is questionably nicer).
(Don't ask me what happened to the rest, I have no idea where they fit in - that's the only storyline we've got so far!)
ANYWAY, ten years later Gossip gets the shock (and gossip) of her life when, while waitressing at a cafe called "The Cafe" (how original!), she stumbles upon Nerd and Bitch dining together!
Wow! But instead of asking them what on earth they were doing together, Gossip is just shocked (flashback to their schooldays: Bitch purposely bumping into Nerd and making him drop all his books) and Nerd suggests they meet up with everyone and Bitch says she has their contact numbers. Like I said, there's something wrong with the script. So anyway, in the next scene they meet up at their old meeting place (some cafe that is not The Cafe) and Uptight is getting, erm, uptight that Nerd and Bitch are late. Hot Guy is (duh) flirting at another table, and Oddball probably says something completely off-tangent. Then Gossip (how slow) suddenly remembers her encounter and begins to talk about it... ...but at that moment the couple appear. How timely. (And by the way, this part was my idea so I have no idea why I'm insulting my idea. Oh whatever.) Next it gets interesting - Hot Guy returns, sees them together and (I think) makes some rude remark about Bitch, to which Nerd gets angry and looks like he's going to beat him up, Hot Guy says something like, "What're you gonna do? Throw your books at me?" (I remember this 'cos it's one of my favourite lines so far!) Then at this climax, Oddball of course has to interrupt with, "Hey! The food's here." (and everyone ignores her) I think Uptight tries to calm them down and get them seated, but Bitch still manages to walk past Hot Guy and tell him to, "Get a life!" (guess who's idea) Then Oddball tells everyone that she likes pepperoni. Suddenly, Hot Guy says something about remembering "this place"... Flashback: You'd think "this place" would flashback to the cafe, but no, someone overlooked that part and it's a flashback to school, when Uptight is once again getting uptight and yelling for everyone to get to class. But Hot Guy is apparently out in the school grounds giving Bitch some flowers, and Nerd is watching them and sobbing. (Okay, that last part was exaggerated...) Then they all get back to class, Gossip grumbles about the stupid lecturer being late, and I think Oddball says something else out-of-point. And then we stopped typing. So you can see, I completely cannot fathom what the plot is leading to, and how Uptight, Gossip and Oddball (to a certain extent) are related to it. All I know is that we better think of something, and fast. It's due on Friday!!! And we have thus come to the end of Part I of today's post. Part II will feature the rest of Friday. Sorry this was so long but thought it would be slightly entertaining. Better than ranting, at least. :P

I. Want. To. Sleep.
Let's start off today's blog with the usual rant - there is no point putting any effort into getting my group projects done. Just no point at all, when you have groups like mine. Apparently they postponed our ICP compilation session to Thursday...and as of now, I think I'm the only one who has actually finished my work!!! Okay, maybe another group member too. That is, however, no explanation as to why four other members haven't completed/started yet.
Seriously. No wonder people always say poly is so slack and projects stress everyone out. Because they choose to waste their time and only start on their projects at the last minute!
Now, like I really care if they start on their projects the day they're due and everything...as long as it's their own individual project. Just because you can't be bothered and want to be lazy, doesn't mean you should go dragging others into this fix too. It's your fault if you leave everything till the last minute and get stressed and stay up the whole night finishing your work, but it's freaking not fair if others have to do that too just because they're in your stupid group.
Grr.
Grr.
GRR.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and they wanted to postpone FOM too, but they couldn't because (as I pointedly told them), the report is due next week and we haven't done the littlest bit of it yet.
So guess that means no skipping school for me tomorrow, nor going home on Friday. Thanks so much. :P
And now...about today.
FOM tutorial was unnaturally long. I was already half dead 22 min into the lecture, and it felt like hours before we were released, whereupon I stayed in my seat and thought about how tired I was.
Unfortunately, of course, we were supposed to have that postponed OC speech test, so I couldn't rest and had to dash off to the LC Studio. Lecturer was late so the test was scheduled to end late. Seriously, when I started typing I didn't think I would ever reach the minimum of 800 words, although it seemed like I had a looooooooong time more to slooooooooowly type away. In the end, I found myself rushing through the last part (helped that I was approaching the maximum of 1000 words and therefore had to cut short a few of the elaborations), finally ending with 1126 (or thereabouts) words.
Was one of the few to leave the class, but at least I felt good about it. Headed for the digital media studio but there was nobody inside; we had been given a half-hour break. After the break we finalised our brochure and set about on our tasks. I was supposed to find two drink cans and recolour them using some fancy filter options, but it took such a short time that I ended up making six. Then I was asked to find a picture of a certain celebrity and crop the picture, which also took a very short time.
So in the end I ended up giving the celebrity a makeover - complete with grey hair, eyebags (smudge function), sallow skin (sponge function) and blackened teeth (burn function!). :P
Then I still had a lot of time, so I took advantage of it by importing Sam's icon from my thumbdrive, and happily putting it through a few filter effects.
Damn. I so wish I had Photoshop!!! Then I can do so much other than stupid borders for my pics. Speaking of those pics, you've noticed them right? Over at the right column? I like the clock one. It took me ages to get a nice, non-blurry shot (I mean, I was holding the thing in my right hand and using my - very unsteady - left hand to click the button!). I'm going to make four more (with different borders hopefully - quite sick of the hazy one already) to put under the rest of my column sections - namely the.past, reading list '05, talk.back and friend.link. Watch out for them! And pray that I have the time to actually do them! :P
And so I am still sitting here, trying very hard to ignore my heavy head and the fact that my eyes are slowly closing. *Yawn*...

Harrumph.
As I said, no one ever listens to me. Didn't I tell my mother at 9 p.m. to wake me up after her bath so I could, er, start whatever we were supposed to do tonight?
And then all of a sudden I wake up and it's 4.40 a.m.
:P (So yeah, YQ, I was intending on coming online)
So now I have to sit here at 5 a.m. and study. :( I mean, there were other things I was supposed to do tonight too!
Anyway, Monday was in no way very enjoyable. It started off being crappy even before I managed to fall asleep, since (after sleeping at 5 a.m. on Sunday morning having forced myself to be responsible and get my ICP done as the group had set Monday as our deadline) at 1.30 a.m. when I was working on my OC speech...of all things I got an SMS from one of my group members (the one who is the most enthusiastic about PS, the one who was present two Fridays ago when we set the date, the one who even wanted to bring the deadline forward to last Friday) saying that she thought we'd better change the date to Wednesday instead 'cos she completely forgot about it.
I cannot even begin to say how FREAKING IRRITATED I was!!!!!!!! I mean, here I was, forcing myself to watch the damn show on Wednesday and Thursday, making what limited observations I could, and having my part of the report constantly weighing on me so I had to do it ASAP. And after I was finally done (took me a good chunk of Saturday afternoon - when I could've just shoved it aside and had more fun at Sam's house! - and Saturday night as you all know), I was all satisfied knowing that our project was going according to plan.
And. Now. This.
Then I was probably too annoyed because it took over an hour to get to sleep and by then it was past 4 a.m. And of all things my mother called me at 6.05 a.m. to close the windows (because it was going to rain), so by 7 a.m., as you might've guessed, I was in no mood to wake up.
Entered the lab about 2 min late but the lecturer wasn't around. To my most delightful surprise, another member had forgotten to do the project too. The other two I couldn't be bothered to ask; they're about as enthusiastic about PS as I am...but the point is:
WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY DOING OVER THE WEEKEND?! (and don't tell me they were doing another project, 'cos we're only in different FOM groups, and I know for a fact one of them also forgot to do her FOM)
And yes, as per their suggestion, YES, I really think you should get a datebook. So I can quit answering pointless homework/project due date questions, and so I won't have to kill you because the same thing won't happen for another project. GRR.
That said, CC was okay (probably because none of them are in my group - they did a switch); we got our setting and characters done. Not much of a plot yet though. And guess which stereotypical character I get to play? :P Not telling yet. Haha.
After CC was a break. Our DTP lecturer had announced that the sign-up form for our trip to the SPH printing placey would only be posted outside her office at noon, and we happened to be there at around 11.36 a.m. So we lingered till noon and when she had finally posted the thingy, were the first people to sign up. Then we went for our ICP tutorial (which was at noon), and subsequently entered around 7 min late. But it was worth it because we passed by her office after ICP and 39 out of the 40 spots had been filled!
But anyway. Speaking of ICP, I spent the whole two hours trying not to sleep. It was sooooooo hard I nearly fell off my chair. The class ended with our lecturer saying how we are the smartest and yet most frustrating of her classes (she takes all the DMC classes). Apparently that's because we're all dead and unreponsive every Monday during her tutorial, yet we manage to crap our way through tutorial work and test papers and still manage to get a high amount of A's (nearly half the class, now I realise). Wow. What a compliment. But it's true, right? Didn't I say, after my ICP CA, that it was full of crap? Hmm. Yeah yeah. Then it was time for ITB and I was really half-dead and sick of school, but we had to start learning all about Microsoft Excel (which I'm afraid I don't know much about). We had to key in all this accounts stuff and add them or subtract them or get the average, etc., and I was trying to check if I'd calculated what I was supposed to calculate. Then my classmates were in the background going, "This is like POA!" and I was like, Can I help it if I'm one of the very few people in this class who didn't take POA?! I took particularly long to finish the whole exercise (by which time the lab was almost empty), which was seriously annoying me because Microsoft Word was soooooo much easier that I usually was one of the first to leave. Got home, had a nice bath and was just going to nap when my mother called to say we were going out for dinner. Which was nice and everything, but nothing beats my nap...
