Today started out in a bad way. WH has got to learn that calling at noon equals a crabby Jessica on the other end of the line. Because while everyone else has been up and functioning for hours, Jessica is still sleeping.

The sad thing is that I planned to wake up early today. I even set my alarm to 10.30 a.m. Unfortunately, insomnia got the better of me again and I didn't manage to fall asleep till nearly 6 a.m. At some point I even remembered there were World Cup Qualifiers being played and contemplated about watching Holland Vs. Armenia. Didn't though. And guess who scored??? :P

ANYWAY. This afternoon I decided to sit down and do some reading. Not reading books, mind you. I took out all my SP brochures (actually only two) and the Career Guide 2004. I was going to pick up that stupid Career Guide when my mother entered the house and shouted for me.

Which of course made me reply, "What??? I didn't do anything!!!" since I am always getting into trouble for really lame reasons.

As usual she didn't answer so I got up and went to see what she wanted. She was holding a pile of letters and this fat brown envelope that looks like the ones my sister is always getting from overseas (containing items she won on Ebay).

So imagine my surprise when my mother handed me the fat brown envelope instead! I almost asked, "Since when did I buy anything?"

And then I saw SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC printed clearly at the bottom. In the little transparent slot was printed the date sent (28th March), my full name, address, and in bold letters: Admission to Diploma In Media And Communication 2005/2006 Semester 1 Academic Session (gee, the slot can't be all that little if it managed to contain so much information...).

I was, like, "Wow! So early? I thought they were only sending in mid-April!" Then I squealed, "So exciting!" and bounded into the room to dissect it.

Turns out it's so fat because there are a myriad of confusing forms inside and equally confusing instructions. There are rules and there are payment methods and there are tuition grants and whatnot. Then there's the Enrolment Guide thrown in, which is slightly more interesting but still a boring read. They even included all the available CCAs inside. Must get down to deliberating soon...

Oh yeah, and I FINALLY found out which block the School of Business is in (great...what I always wanted...to be a business student...*growls*). I already knew that it was near Foodcourt 6 but the two maps I had previously were blocked by stupid wordings. Anyway if I'm not wrong, the School of Infocomm Technology seems to be in the same block too, as is the School of Language & Communication.

Must be a pretty big block.

And I also realised that if everyone had gone along with Biomedical Science as they had agreed in the first place (assuming everyone got in too), meeting up with me wouldn't have been all that convenient after all - the School of Chemical & Life Sciences is at the opposite end of SP from the Business block!

So YQ is going to kill me. I didn't mean to fall asleep and wake up at 11 p.m.!!! Well, okay, I meant to fall asleep (in fact I was online at 8-something)...but not to wake up at 11 p.m.

ANYWAY. Yesterday was YQ's birthday! :) And that irritating friend of ours made me come half an hour earlier to Tampines (all the way to Tampines! :P ), then even though I was nearly half an hour late (who asked him to tell me at the last minute!)...YQ and I actually had to wait for him for don't know how long more.

And guess who lives nearest to Tampines central???

Hmmph. Anyway he is forgiven since he treated YQ and I to McFlurrys. Plus I forgot to bring the verification forms. Heehee.

Oh yeah! YQ was wearing her nice, new and GREEN uniform and her nice, new and BLUE shoes and carrying her nice, new and BLUE bag and her nice, new and PURPLE file...and erm, I felt old. :P Hahaha.

We sat at the Interchange McDonald's for like 2 hours. I don't remember what we were talking about except that YQ was puzzling over her CCA selections and wanted to go home and sleep.

Speaking of sleep, I slept on the train home. So I was too lazy to stop and take my 131. Settled for 145. Was just in time. Apparently it takes roughly 10 min to reach home from the MRT. Must go find out how long it takes to reach Dover from the MRT some other day.

And by the way, this whole sleeping-on-the-train thing (which happens everytime I travel to or from Tampines) shows that I reaaaaaalllllllyyyy can't make the journey every single day for 3 years...hmm. Hmmph.

I had a dream this afternoon. I was in this car, in the driver's seat, and the stupid thing was on cruise control. The highway ahead was so not straight and since I obviously can't drive, I asked the person behind me what to do about it (getting pretty panicky). The very kind person told me to just leave it. For some reason the car managed to go around some bends quite smoothly...

...Then promptly drove right off the highway.

I have such a bright future.

ANYWAY. I notice that I didn't mention my mother's new purchase. We were at the market on Saturday and she bought a rose plant. It's so pretty, all bright pink and stuff. I could just sit on our doorstep and stare at it the whole day...if there weren't so many lizards and other freaky insects lurking about.

I need to get out into the sun. And it seems like everytime I want to do that, something crops up instead. Like today: I woke up and it was raining. It never rains unless I want to go out desperately!

I gave up on Fire Emblem, by the way. Hector's Story is IMPOSSIBLE. I mean it. There are like double the number of enemies from Eliwood's Story - and all the characters start at ridiculously low levels, mostly 1. At only the third chapter, almost my whole army died! What the - ?! But that said, his story is more interesting 'cos you get his point of view, and not only Eliwood's. Too bad I can't live to finish it. I mean, my characters can't live to finish it. :P

Less than two months before my life starts again. I mean, less than two months before my school life starts again. Hmm.

Sigh. What is it with this domino effect, anyway? Just when I think, hey, WH's going offline, at least I can still chat with YQ...YQ goes off. Today was the opposite. Grr.

So anyway, guess that means I'm free. Well, actually not. I should probably be going off too. But while I'm here, might as well talk about my day.

It wasn't very exciting. Just meeting YQ for lunch at Pastamania (again), and listening to her talk about TPJC. Then looking for earrings for her, followed by dropping off her library books at Takashimaya. After which we went to Topshop, U2 and Zara to look around. She somehow convinced me to take the train to City Hall, where I hopped off and caught my bus.

Wow. That was a pretty good summary. Haha. Self-praise.

Very tired. As in we walked so much that I nearly collapsed into the house.

Okay. Exaggerating.

Oh yeah! I just helped WH to register for his private candidate stuff. It's a pity because I had the power to register him for every single language on the list too...why, WHY must I be so nice???

I have nothing much to do after this. Just finished the last chapter of FE before my bath. Really wasted though; I could've gotten all 12 characters alive at the end, if Louise hadn't gone Berserk and killed Canas and Lucius. Grr. Just like the time Raven killed Eliwood, except that with Eliwood the game ends immediately.

Now I must go and update my Friend.Links. Haha. Been meaning to do it for some time actually...

P.S. Kindly don't ask why I didn't update my school and class (course) stuff. Not going to do that until I officially start school!

Today was a sad day. Nobody sms-ed.

So I stayed at home and sulked. Haha.

Okay, okay, I was occupied with something else. Last night I took out my GBA SP again (argh, GBA SP...) to try Fire Emblem. Suddenly had the urge to continue Cheryl's existing game. Upon getting her consent, I spent like two hours trying to get through the sealed lava cave chapter. It's usually extremely easy but I wanted to train up Priscilla (whom Cheryl didn't train) and she kept dying. Oh well. Other than that though, I spent the time wondering how on earth Cheryl managed to get both Sain and Kent to such high levels, and why on earth didn't she train Raven.

ANYWAY. Pointless stuff. After completely losing track of the time, I went to bed. As usual, played my CD. It sounds so good in the quiet darkness. The good thing was that I had just finished my favourite track ("Holiday") when the discman went dead. The bad thing was that "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" was the next song. So I had to get up again and go charge the thing.

I woke up at 1 p.m., well aware that everyone had been awake for ages. Haha. Had lunch then spent another hour listening to my CD whilst studying that stupid vocab list of mine. Satisfied, I went back to Fire Emblem. Finished that quite fun chapter where you have to defend Castle Ostia. I managed to kill that idiotic Denning guy by surrounding him with Hector, Eliwood and Hawkeye, plus I got Legault to steal everything in sight. So that was pretty satisfying. :)

Okay, enough about FE...for today. Haha.

Have been feeling extremely stupid (as usual) the past two days, ever since my mother came home saying how much she enjoyed her Beginner's Chinese class.

She'll probably be better than me in like five lessons...

All right, all right. No suspense. If you read the previous post (which you most likely didn't 'cos you were asleep), you might have thought of strangling me. That is, unless you already know my posting. Haha. But if you didn't, kindly read the post below first.

***SPOILER***

That sounded pretty lame. Like I'm revealing the ending of some book or movie...

ANYWAY, I entered my IC no. As expected, didn't have to wait long. The page changed and the first thing that I saw was SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC. Then the rest of the words there finally entered my vision. It took so long for the rest of it to sink in since, obviously, if I got into SP then duh it would be Media & Comm right?

Okay, my first thought was...

Aww...didn't get into my first choice.

Second thought was...

Ahhh...then I can still go to school with Cheryl!

Final thought was (after receiving Cheryl's sms)...

Argh!!! Why's everyone going to TP?!?!

After that I stopped thinking completely and started wallowing in self despair. Well, okay, I tried my vainest to find someone else going to SP. By the end of the day I only found two. My clump of friends (haha) are all headed for TP (that part not haha) or JC. Cheryl and I even lamented on how our sad lives never let us get into our first-choice schools (this includes that depressing part of our lives after the PSLE - I still remember 12-year-old me not daring to look at my posting, and 12-year-old Cheryl coming up to me and waving her slip, laughing - not in a happy way - as she exclaimed about getting into her last choice, SHSS).

Hey, I almost convinced my mother to let me appeal for TP. But in the end she was like, "Stick to your course lah!"

Hmmph. My mother mentioned the other day that if I was still living near TPJC, I would've applied there. If I was still living near TP, I would've applied there too, as my second choice still. Not my third. Makes me wonder if I could've gotten into Comm & Media Mgmt there...but whatever. Like I'll ever know.

Anyway, until I find some more people who are going to SP, I'm just going to sit here and weep.

Kidding.

Only comforting fact is that I got in without getting off my swivel chair and making the trip down to apply for DAE.

(Man, am I lazy!)

So that's the Major Irony of everything. On the 28th of February YQ, Sam, Joy and Cheryl were all saying in unison that they were going to SP...not me.

...and on the 22nd of March I became the only one going there!

Well, those JC-goers must be going to bed by now.

Left all alone. Sniff.

Yesterday was supposed to be "The Last Outing". Sam made it sound like we would die the next day. We joked about dying quite a lot. All getting-rammed-down-by-cars and stuff. Ha.

ANYWAY, we took neocards at Bugis. "Our Last Memories" or so Sam called them (told you she was being morbid!). Then we walked to City Hall where we ate dinner at Cafe Cartel. I think I'm going to miss those Saturday outings. Seriously. It's one of those things you take for granted after so many months. I settled for pan-fried linguine and spent the time moaning about spending so much money. To make up for that, we all ate bread but didn't order any drinks.

Then YQ wanted to buy a CD-RW but the nearest Popular was at Orchard. Sam wanted to stay out late, but we had to convince her for quite long before we got her to come along. Took a bus there.

At Popular they went about hunting for stationery while I followed behind, annoying them (as usual). I think I might actually miss buying stationery. Or so much stationery at least.

Her stuff bought, YQ abandoned us. Haha. "Our Last Memory" of her was her sticking her tongue out at us as she rushed out to the MRT.

Then I had to go torture (unintentionally!) Sam by dallying in CD-RAMA while she kept reminding me she wanted to go to the bathroom.

I (finally) got my CD and we headed for Takashimaya. Sam wanted to look at the desserts in Dairy Queen but she didn't buy anything; in the end we went to Cold Storage where she bought some pomelo drink.

We sat outside the exhibition area - the same position we sat with Shawn just 3 days ago. The difference was that the baby fair was gone. And I so wanted the Barney bolster too!! :P

By that time it was almost 9.30 p.m.; the shops were all closing so we were left with nothing to do even though we didn't want to go home. We went out of the building and sat by the staircase watching everyone walk past and talking about meeting once every month.

I'd like to see how many months we can actually keep that up!

But still...from everyday to once every month?

At first Sam suggested we walk to Hotel Rendezvous to take our buses, but then she got lazy and I took so long just to get her walking again. We headed for the nearest bus stop where Sam found out her bus was coming in less than 5 minute's time. My bus arrived first though.

At City Hall I waited for my second bus and it was only when I got on that Sam said her bus had arrived. So we should have walked!!! :P

I was pretty tired when I got home. So didn't really bother to argue when my mother made me sleep at midnight. Even though I wasn't as sleepy as I was tired. Instead I got out my discman (thanks to that pile of poly guides, my earphones were bent out of shape!) and played my CD. You'd think rock music would keep me awake, but I actually nearly dozed off at track 8.

I slept for 3 hours maybe, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep ('cos this time the music worked!). At 6.30 a.m. I gave up and went to wash up. Had just taken the lid off my ready-to-eat cup noodles when WH sms-ed saying he already checked his results. That was just before 7 a.m.! If I had known I would've gotten it over and done with long ago! I made a mad dash for the com. My fingers trembled as I typed since I forgot to switch on the light and couldn't see clearly. But I got my results all right.

Random Thoughts Of the Day:

1. Never disturb Jessica Yeo when she is writing. Guess what happened to the ant who crawled up her journal last night?

2. Jessica Yeo hasn't been writing for a long time. So after dealing with said ant, she completely lost her train of thoughts.

3. Stupid ant.

4. Posting results out tomorrow. Don't think I will sleep.

5. Anyway I'm an insomniac so it doesn't matter.

6. My bet is on me getting into SP. Employing the use of probability, which was probably (haha) the only thing I was good at in Math.

7. I don't need to do Math anymore.

8. Unless I get into Biomedical Science.

9. Upon which I will appeal to somewhere else.

10. Somehow I don't think I could get in even if I wanted...

11. It's 2.51 p.m.

12. Wasn't I supposed to meet Sam and YQ at 4 p.m.?

13. I should change.

14. I don't know what to wear.

15. I'll probably spend the next 3 years of life not knowing what to wear.

16. I need to buy more clothes.

17. I'll probably spend the next 3 years of my life needing to buy more clothes.

18. I'll be broke soon.

19. I'll probably spend the next 3 years of my life being broke.

20. Life stinks.

I was so tired last night that a few things completely slipped my mind. Now the only one which I can remember is that I saw the Saiyuki Reload VCD on sale!

Unfortunately both Box 1 and 2 do not feature Hakkai on the cover. The DVD cover shows all four of them (the pic is very nice), but it costs $69.90. Sigh. Oh well.

ANYWAY.

As everyone may or may not know, I have been eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel to Fire Emblem since the day I completed the game (which was three-quarters of a year ago). Unfortunately Nintendo isn't as yet releasing the true sequel (Japan's Fire Emblem 6) to Fire Emblem (Japan's Fire Emblem 7).

But the good thing is, they are releasing Japan's Fire Emblem 8!!! Finally!!! And it's not that long away, either - May 23rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.....................eh..........................

Isn't May 23rd the day Poly starts?!?!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. See, my happiness is always short-lived. :(

Also extremely tired today so don't talk to me. Like who's going to talk to me anyway. Haha.

Anyway, originally I intended to just sleep in and stay at home the whole day playing The Sims 2 or something. Was still pretty exhausted from yesterday. But I ended up having lunch with my father at Orchard. Then during lunch that irritating friend called and I agreed to meet (not knowing Miss Yan Qing would abandon us again). Which made all my shopping plans go awry, sadly. I had a few things to buy but I only ended up at the Liat Towers Zara branch, since that's the only place they have the kids' line. Picked three shirts and happily went to try them on. Bought a nice pink one. Was having so much fun I had half a mind not to meet our friend. Haha. Unfortunately I had to rush all the way to Far East Plaza (which I absolutely hate).

Well, the whole evening was really spent walking from Takashimaya to Far East Plaza and back, then to Far East Plaza again...and back. By the time we got back to Lucky Plaza, it was slightly past 9.30 p.m. so all the shops had closed and I couldn't continue with my shopping. *sob*sob* Never mind, there's always tomorrow...

Currently half-dead so must make this quick. I had less than 3 hours of sleep last night...not entirely my fault 'cos I couldn't get to sleep. In fact I went to bed earlier than usual.

Anyway, today was pretty pointless. But then again I had nothing planned, so I followed YQ and Cheryl to the Creativex Fest at Jurong. So happened Sam and Shawn were on the same train, but they took the shuttle there whereas we hopped onto an SBS bus.

It was damn crowded and the queue was damn damn damn long. Like as we were making our way to the end of the queue, we passed by like ten zillion people and still there seemed no end to it!

Can't say the whole thing was very Fest-ive (haha), but then again I was the only pathetically poor person who went there with no intention and no money to buy an mp3 player or whatever weird stuff.

We lost S & S inside. Didn't stay round to browse, just joined the queue. YQ had a choice of colours for her mp3 player. I told her to get the light blue one, then when she paid, purposely annoyed her by saying the pink one was nicer. Well, I think the pink one's nicer. I only said light blue 'cos she likes the colour more than I do! :P Oh, and Cheryl bought her father a black player (different model). Shawn (I found out later) bought the same model as YQ but of a different capacity and colour. Sam bought a red cover for her mp3 player, and noise-cancellation headphones for who-knows-what. Probably too much money to spend. :P Anyway why am I listing all this pointless stuff???

Right after that YQ, Cheryl and I went to IMM...ate some snacks. IMM was extremely boring so we didn't stay long. YQ went to the interchange to take a bus, whilst Cheryl and I took the MRT down. On the way I confused her with my long-and-complicated Sims family tree, and we also discussed the JAE posting results. We're both highly doubtful we can get into our first-choice courses. But we'll see on Tuesday.

I got off at City Hall while Cheryl continued home to Pasir Ris. Took the connecting train to Orchard where I met Sam and Shawn some time after that. Sam was complaining she was so hungry that she was going to faint 'cos her blood sugar level was too low (she's beginning to remind me of our Bio text these days...). We went to - surprisingly - KFC to eat. She ate till she was so full she said she was going to faint. If you noticed she wanted to faint when she was both hungry and full!

Our next stop was Kinokuniya. Shawn wanted to buy that Harry Potter guidebook Sam bought that day, but it was out of stock and the new shipment would only arrive in like a month's time. Then we left to go check out dangly earrings for Sam. Went to Perlini's Silver and Bits 'N' Pieces. She finally bought them on our second visit to Bits 'N' Pieces.

After that we - I am ashamed to admit - made a trip to the toy department, stopping for an interestingly long time at the Spongebob Squarepants shelf. With nothing better to do, we then browsed around the baby fair downstairs (which was totally lame) and Cold Storage.

It was getting late so Shawn went off to the MRT and I went to the bus stop, whilst Sam stayed to wait for her parents.

Yawn. That's the end of a long day. Now I'm gonna add the quizzy thingy I promised YQ...

*sniff*

So I rushed through Dumb Witness the whole day and finished it slightly before 11 p.m., then made a mad dash for the com to get on MSN.

And - they - ABANDONED - me!!!

*sniff*sniff*sniffle*sniffle*

Well, okay, they humoured me for a little while, then dear friend (or irritating friend or whatever) had to go home and YQ had to go off 'cos she was aching from going on her wilderness trek today. You know, that treetop thingy at MacRitchie? Actually, what the heck, I don't really know.

The main point is that now poor me is left alone to insult them on my blog.

Fine, so I'm not really insulting them. I mean, YQ will read this sooner or later anyway.

But in the meantime, "Hmmmmph."

(Jumps around happily)

Yay!!! I only just realised it after updating my booklist. I finished book 20!!!

FINALLY!

Now I have 5 more to go. Oh well. Haha.

Must say I finished that last one extraordinarily fast; only just completed Lord Edgware Dies yesterday afternoon. ANYWAY, the sooner the better. Then I can get on with other less morbid genres. Haha.

What's that? Oh right. Another thing I forgot. Apparently everyone on earth (or at least everyone I know) decided to have their birthdays within the span of the next five weeks. Was quite astonished when I saw my phone calendar clearly highlighting at least one birthday every week. This was completely not helped by my father and sister, whose birthdays are exactly one week apart. Argh.

Hmmph. Very bored today. Finally returned to my Sims but nothing remotely interesting occurred, then settled down to get The ABC Murders over and done with. Sigh. Waiting for 23rd March...

P.S. Eh, I was just browsing through my Microsoft Word files and stumbled across four Biomedical Science course overviews that Sam got me to print before the results came out. Came up to quite a pile of print-outs, I remember. And she didn't even choose that course in the end!!! Grr. Okay, fine, haven't gotten over the betrayal yet. *sniff*

Oh well. Decided to blog now since you miss me so much. (Hears Ana and YQ puking in the background) Heehee.

Anyway, I'm kinda surprised, too, how fast one week just went by. How on earth did that happen???

Oh. Right. I stayed over at Sam's house again on Wednesday night. With YQ of course. Ate two cup noodles again. :) Actually, ate a lot. Potato rings, one-and-a-half muffins, waffles with ice cream, Slurpee, Campbell's soup...erm, you get the idea. So you see, I am such a pig in more ways than one. Oink.

Honestly I don't know what the whole point of staying over at Sam's house was. Not like the last time, when we were discussing JAE options. (Speaking of JAE, it seems like only yesterday Sam and I were online at 3 a.m. and grumbling about the site still being inaccessible, till I started browsing the MOE website and came across school tuckshop vacancies. "Let's start a stall if we become drop outs because of stupid JAE!" Sam suggested. My reply: "Haha, and we'll call our stall Just Appetising Eats!"...)

ANYWAY, in reality we spent like half of Wednesday night mulling over a dilemma - should we stay up to watch Juventus vs. Real Madrid and miss breakfast, or should we miss the match and wake up for breakfast at McDonald's?

In the end we neither stayed up for the match nor had breakfast at McDonald's. Well, okay, we didn't stay up to finish the match. Even before it started Sam said she couldn't stay awake; not long into the match she was fast asleep on the couch. YQ stayed awake but got bored before half-time since it was still 0-0. She said she was going to sleep at half-time and obviously so was Sam.

So at half-time I gave up (grudgingly) and went to bed. Although I didn't sleep immediately since I wasn't tired.

The next day we all left at 4-something - Sam to meet her parents, YQ to Music Synergy, me for home. To sleep. Oink.

The first half of Friday was like a dream. A dream for me, that is. I went to yet another buffet lunch with my mother and aunts. This time, however, my jaw nearly dropped when I found out why the heck the buffet was so expensive: abalone, shark's fin, sashimi, smoked salmon, pepper crab, oysters, weird soups...the list went on and on, although the most delightful part was the wine. There was this sign saying that people under 18 shouldn't take them, but did I care? Like who was gonna haul me up and yell, "You're not 18!!!" Anyway, not like I even took the glasses myself. I helped myself to my mother's red wine. Then she gave me a glass of white wine. And I drank more of her red wine. I don't know if it was the alcohol or because I had so little sleep the previous night, but I ended up spending the rest of the day being tired out.

And that evening, everyone was happily enjoying themselves at the barbeque while I *ahem* was wondering why I always get myself into trouble for no rhyme or reason. Thus began a very miserable weekend, which explains why I was in no mood to blog or even surf the Net.

Saturday I had a lunch appointment. On the way there YQ sms-ed to tell me about the 25% discount for privilege card members at Times. What timely news. Right after lunch I rushed down and bought the remaing three books on my list. :) :) :)

Saturday night I was actually in no mood to do anything again, owing to the fact that Sunday was doomsday for me and everything. I finished another quarter of Lord Edgware Dies but couldn't continue since I had to sleep.

And sleep I didn't. I was up for who-knows-how-many hours, tossing and turning and thinking till I got a giant headache.

This morning I was awoken at noon by my handphone ringing. I thought it was my mother calling to wake me up and thus make me feel even worse.

Turns out things were much, much different...
